Phones with the highest-resolution main camera
Megapixels measure how many million points a sensor records, and the main rear camera is the one most photos come from. This ranking sorts the phones in the catalogue by the resolution of that main sensor as printed in the manufacturer’s sheet. More megapixels give room to crop and print large, but they are one input among many.

What to keep in mind
Image quality depends at least as much on sensor size, lens aperture, stabilisation and the processing pipeline as on the pixel count. A 48 MP sensor with strong processing often beats a 200 MP sensor in poor light, because most high-resolution sensors combine pixels into a lower-resolution picture by default.
We rank the first camera named in the sheet, which is the main sensor on every device here. Telephoto and ultrawide figures are visible on each model page but do not affect the order.
How the ranking works
Main rear camera resolution stated in the spec sheet (megapixels). The list sorts devices by a single criterion: Main rear camera resolution stated in the spec sheet (megapixels). Every value is parsed from the manufacturer-sourced specification stored on each device page.
Frequently asked questions
How is “Phones with the highest-resolution main camera” calculated?
The list sorts devices by a single criterion: Main rear camera resolution stated in the spec sheet (megapixels). Every value is parsed from the manufacturer-sourced specification stored on each device page.
Are these independent test results?
No. PhonesVS does not run its own lab measurements in these lists. The order reflects published spec-sheet figures and says nothing about real-world behaviour, build quality or software.
Why is a device I am looking for missing?
A device appears only if its spec sheet states the figure being ranked. Models that leave it out, or that are not yet in the catalogue, are not listed.
How often is the list updated?
Rankings are computed live from the catalogue, so a new device or a corrected spec changes the order the next time the page is built.
