The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro sits in the middle of the Redmi Note 15 family and is, on paper, the most balanced of the three 5G models. It keeps the large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen, the 200MP main camera with optical stabilisation and the full IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection of the top model, but it swaps the processor for a MediaTek chip, trims charging to 45W and uses the saved money and space on an even bigger battery of 6,580 mAh. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information, and it marks Xiaomi's own claims as claims.

Place in the lineup

The family has three 5G phones on Xiaomi's global site. The entry model is the Redmi Note 15, the top model is the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, and the Pro in between is the one with the widest choice of configurations: 8GB or 12GB of memory combined with 256GB or 512GB of storage, giving four versions. It is also offered in four colours, Black, Glacier Blue, Titanium and Mist Purple. The manufacturer pages we reviewed state no US price and no US availability, so this page carries no price. The practical differences against the Pro+ are the Dimensity 7400-Ultra instead of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a 20MP selfie camera instead of 32MP, 45W charging instead of 100W, a larger battery and a thinner, slightly heavier body at 7.96 mm and 210 g. If you want to see it against a rival, the Redmi Note 15 Pro vs POCO X8 page lays the numbers out side by side.

Design and durability

The Pro measures 163.61 x 78.09 x 7.96 mm, which makes it noticeably thinner than the Pro+ at 8.19 mm even though it holds a larger battery. Xiaomi describes the build as a "Titan" structure with a high-strength frame, a reinforced front panel in Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 (or glass of equivalent or higher durability) and an SGS-certified 2.5-metre drop test onto a smooth granite surface, plus an SGS five-star certification for drop, bend and crush resistance. As with every drop claim, this refers to test conditions, and the company itself notes that a precision device can still break if dropped.

The water and dust rating is the same as on the Pro+: IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K, with the IP68 test defined as static freshwater at up to 2 metres for up to 30 minutes and the IP69 tests defined as hot-water jets at close range. Xiaomi adds a TÜV SÜD endurance certification for water resistance and says that the phone survived a 2-metre, 24-hour test, which is a longer test than the standard IP68 one. The warranty does not cover liquid damage, so treat the rating as a safety margin.

Display

The 6.83-inch AMOLED panel has 2772 x 1280 pixels, around 447 pixels per inch, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Xiaomi lists 3,200 nits of peak brightness, 1,800 nits in high-brightness mode, 12-bit colour depth, DCI-P3, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 3,840Hz PWM dimming and the same three TÜV Rheinland eye-comfort certificates as the Pro+: low blue light, circadian friendly and flicker free. The touch sampling rate reaches 480Hz, with a 2,560Hz instantaneous rate in Game Turbo mode only. The Pro overview page calls the panel a CrystalRes AMOLED, while the specification table says simply AMOLED, so we use the simpler wording. Peak brightness is a figure for small highlights, and the typical, full-screen brightness will be lower; it is not stated on the page.

Performance and software

The Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Ultra, a 4nm chip with an octa-core CPU of up to 2.6GHz and a Mali-G615 GPU. It is paired with LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage, which are older and slower standards than the LPDDR5X and UFS 3.1 used by pricier phones such as the OPPO Reno15 Pro. For daily apps, browsing, video and social media this class of hardware is perfectly adequate, and Xiaomi's own pages emphasise thermal design and gaming features such as the high touch rate. We would not expect it to match a flagship in sustained heavy 3D games, but no independent benchmark is cited on the manufacturer page.

On the software side, the product page refers to Xiaomi HyperOS 2 features and promises six years of security updates, but it does not state an Android version, so this page does not either. Google Gemini and Circle to Search are supported, and Xiaomi lists AI tools such as AI Erase Pro, AI Remove Reflection, AI Image Expansion, AI Sky, AI Bokeh, AI Cutouts, AI Image Enhancement, AI Beautify and AI Film, with availability that varies by region. Connectivity includes dual SIM with eSIM, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, an in-screen fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock, and the same Xiaomi Offline Communication voice feature that the Pro+ has, which works over roughly a kilometre in open areas and needs a SIM card and a Xiaomi account.

Camera

The rear system is the same as on the Pro+: a 200MP main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, a 1/1.4-inch size, optical image stabilisation and 16-in-1 binning, plus an 8MP ultrawide with f/2.2. There is no telephoto camera. Xiaomi markets five focal lengths from one lens, from 23mm to 92mm equivalent, with optical-level quality claimed at 2x and 4x thanks to processing, but these are crops of the high-resolution sensor and cannot match a real telephoto lens at longer distances. Rear video goes up to 4K at 30 frames per second, and the front camera is a 20MP unit with an f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second. Picture quality cannot be read from the specification list, so check independent sample photos if the camera is the deciding factor.

Battery and charging

With 6,580 mAh typical capacity in a silicon-carbon cell, the Pro has one of the largest batteries in this price class. Xiaomi quotes up to two days of use, up to 27 hours of video playback and up to 108 hours of music playback in its own tests, and says the battery keeps more than 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 cycles, a figure it calculates from internal data and translates into six years of use. At -20 degrees Celsius it claims up to 20 hours of video playback. Charging is 45W with a charger in the box, and the phone can reverse-charge other devices by cable at up to 22.5W. A 45W charger will take noticeably longer to fill 6,580 mAh than the Pro+ takes with 100W, and the manufacturer page gives no charge time for this model, so we do not give one either.

Who it is for

The Redmi Note 15 Pro is aimed at buyers who want the big display, the large battery and the durable build of the family without paying for the fastest charging or the Snapdragon chip. It suits students, commuters and people who use their phone heavily during the day but charge it overnight, where the 45W speed is not a handicap. It also offers more storage and memory choices than its siblings, which matters if you want 512GB without jumping to the Pro+.

Compromises

The trade-offs are a mid-range processor, older memory and storage standards, no telephoto lens, no wireless charging in the specification list, and a selfie camera that is lower in resolution than the Pro+. The best touch response works only in games, the battery and drop figures come from Xiaomi's laboratories, and there is no US price on the pages we reviewed.
