The POCO X6 Pro is Xiaomi's performance-for-the-money phone from the POCO sub-brand, and the most important thing to know about it is the chip: MediaTek's Dimensity 8300-Ultra, a part usually seen in more expensive handsets. Around it sit a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen, a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W charging, and a 64MP camera with optical stabilisation. This page is a specification-and-information based review built on the product and specification pages Xiaomi publishes for the global market. Manufacturer statements are labelled as claims, and anything the pages do not state, such as the Android version it ships with or a price, is left open instead of guessed.

Where the X6 Pro fits in the POCO range

POCO's X series is the brand's value line, below the F series, which carries the stronger chips. The X6 Pro was positioned as the X model that borrows an idea from the F series, a high-end processor. Later releases moved the numbers on: the POCO F6 and POCO F6 Pro sit above it, and the POCO X8 Pro is a more recent model in the X family. For a direct look at what changed generation to generation, the table POCO X6 Pro vs POCO F6 lines up the numbers. The global specification page lists two memory configurations, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB, in three colours: black, yellow and grey.

Design and build

The X6 Pro is 160.45 mm tall, 74.34 mm wide and about 8.25 mm thick in the plastic version, or 8.35 mm with the vegan-leather back. The weight is 186 g for plastic and 190 g for leather, and Xiaomi notes that these are internal lab measurements. The yellow version is the standout: Xiaomi calls it the POCO series' first vegan-leather back cover, and the page says the yellow finish has a leather texture. The camera deco keeps the familiar POCO bump, here described as a curved, dual-curve design, and the back is curved evenly all around, which Xiaomi says improves grip.

Protection on the front is Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which is an older generation than the glass used on higher-priced phones. Dust and water resistance is IP54, which Xiaomi's own footnote explains means resistance to dust and splashes under specific laboratory conditions, not immersion, and the warranty does not cover liquid damage outside those conditions. In short, the phone tolerates rain but it is not a swimming-pool phone.

Display

The screen is a 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED panel at 2712 x 1220 pixels, or 446 pixels per inch. Xiaomi markets the resolution as "CrystalRes 1.5K", and claims power use close to a full-HD display despite the higher pixel count, a statement based on its internal lab testing against other launched models. The panel supports up to 120Hz with an adaptive-sync mode, 68.7 billion colours, DCI-P3 colour, HDR10+ and a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. Brightness is rated at 1,200 nits in high-brightness mode and 1,800 nits at peak, and the bezels are slim: 1.3 mm on the sides and 2.27 mm at the bottom according to Xiaomi's AA-to-CG measurement.

Touch response is also quoted: 480Hz regular sampling and 2160Hz instant sampling, but the latter works only with Game Turbo on, and Xiaomi's note says the 2160Hz function would arrive through an OTA update, so a buyer should not assume it is present on day one. Eye-comfort features include 1920Hz PWM dimming and 16,000 levels of brightness adjustment, and there is an in-screen fingerprint sensor plus face unlock.

Performance and cooling

The Dimensity 8300-Ultra is built on TSMC's 4nm process with an octa-core layout, up to 3.35GHz, ARMv9 cores in a 1+3+4 arrangement and a Mali-G615 GPU. Xiaomi quotes an AnTuTu score of 1,464,228 and a 248% GPU improvement over the previous generation. These are manufacturer figures from its own testing, and benchmark numbers vary with software version and thermal state, but the direction is clear: this is a clearly faster chip than the Snapdragon 7-class and Dimensity 7000-class parts typically found at the same price.

Memory and storage are LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0, a generation of storage that was uncommon in this price bracket, and the page mentions "Memory extension 3.0", a virtual-memory feature, though it gives no size for it. For sustained gaming Xiaomi adds LiquidCool Technology 2.0 with a 5,000 mm² vapour chamber and more than 10,000 mm² of graphite sheet, plus WildBoost Optimization 2.0 for frame-rate stability. The operating system is listed simply as Xiaomi HyperOS; the pages reviewed do not state an Android version or an update schedule, so those details stay unconfirmed here.

Camera

The rear camera is a triple setup: a 64MP main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and 1.4 micrometre pixels (4-in-1 binning), an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view at f/2.2, and a 2MP macro camera at f/2.4. The main camera has optical image stabilisation, and Xiaomi describes combined OIS and EIS for steadier 4K video, with the caveat that stabilisation applies only in supported modes and formats. Video is recorded at up to 4K at 24 or 30 frames per second on the rear cameras, while the 16MP front camera at f/2.4 records up to 1080p at 60 frames per second.

The software side includes motion capture and motion-tracking focus (both of which must be switched on in settings), a burst mode of 50 photos and a set of film-style filters named after classic stocks. The cameras are a competent but not remarkable part of the package: 64MP with OIS is a practical main camera, the 2MP macro adds little, and there is no telephoto lens. Photo fans choosing at this price point may find rivals with stronger imaging, while the X6 Pro makes its case through speed.

Battery and charging

The battery is 5,000 mAh (typical), charged at 67W, with a 67W charger included in the box. Xiaomi says a full charge takes 45 minutes, a lab figure measured under specific conditions, and quotes usage of more than 19 hours of video playback, more than 15 hours of navigation, more than 50 hours of music and more than 29 hours of calls, with screen-off testing at 25 degrees Celsius and a note that real results vary. The phone uses two self-developed chips, a P2 charging chip and a G1 battery-management chip, along with features such as heavy-load smart charging, night charging and Battery Health 3.0 for longevity.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.4, NFC (availability varies by market), an infrared blaster and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, though there is no mention of a headphone jack or wireless charging, so neither should be assumed.

Who the POCO X6 Pro is for

Compromises to weigh

The trade-offs are plain. Gorilla Glass 5 and an IP54 rating are modest, the 2MP macro and the lack of a telephoto lens limit the cameras, and the phone ships without wireless charging according to the pages reviewed. The software is HyperOS without a stated update policy on the pages reviewed, so long-term support is something to check for your region before buying. Phones such as the Nothing Phone (3a) offer a different approach, with a cleaner software feel and distinctive design, while the X6 Pro leans on raw speed. For a wider view of how it ranks beside other phones, see the phone rankings.

Overall, the POCO X6 Pro is a speed-first mid-range phone: the Dimensity 8300-Ultra, UFS 4.0, a bright 1.5K AMOLED and 67W charging are its strongest cards, while the basic secondary cameras, older glass and open questions about software support are the costs.
