The HONOR Magic V6 is a book-style foldable that puts thinness and toughness at the centre of its pitch. HONOR describes it as the slimmest inward-folding phone on the market, at 8.75 mm folded and 4.0 mm unfolded for the white version, while still carrying a 6,660 mAh battery, an IP68 and IP69 rating and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information. It covers where the phone sits in HONOR's range, what the two displays offer, how the hardware and software are set up, and which compromises come with a device that tries to do all of this in a body this thin.
Place in the lineup
The Magic V line is HONOR's foldable flagship family, and the V6 is the newest entry in it. It follows a pattern HONOR has pursued across generations: make the book-style foldable thinner and lighter than rivals without giving up battery capacity. HONOR's own pages state a few headline numbers for this generation, namely the 8.75 mm folded thickness, the 219 g weight of the white version and a battery above 6,600 mAh, and they present the combination as the point of the phone. The company's standard slab flagships sit elsewhere in the catalogue, for example the HONOR Magic7 Pro and the HONOR 600 Pro, and the Magic V6 is the one for people who want a larger inner screen for reading, multitasking and video.
Among competing book-style foldables, the closest points of comparison are Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold7 and its successor the Galaxy Z Fold8, the OPPO Find N5 and Google's Pixel 10 Pro Fold. A side-by-side view is available in the HONOR Magic V6 vs Galaxy Z Fold7 comparison. HONOR's pages on the pages reviewed state no US list price, so no price is given here.
Design, hinge and durability
The numbers come first. The white version measures 8.75 mm when folded and 4.0 mm when open and weighs about 219 g; the other colours are specified at 9.0 mm folded, 4.1 mm open and about 224 g. HONOR notes that the open thickness excludes the camera bump and screen films, and it points out that the figure is limited mainly by the USB-C port. The phone is 156.7 mm tall and 74.5 mm wide when folded and 145.6 mm wide when open. Four colours are listed: black, white, gold and red. In the press renders the gold and red versions use textured, leather-like backs with a gold-toned frame, while the black and white models have a smoother finish.
HONOR stresses durability more than most foldable makers. The hinge uses what the company calls a super steel structure rated at 2,800 MPa, and it is certified by SGS for 500,000 folds. The cover screen uses HONOR's Anti-Scratch Nanocrystal Shield glass, and the inner display uses a reinforced ultra-thin glass layer that SGS certifies as having an imperceptible crease. The device also holds an SGS five-star drop rating. According to HONOR it is the first foldable with both IP68 and IP69 ratings, tested for immersion down to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes in fresh water. As with every manufacturer rating, HONOR adds that water and dust resistance is not permanent and that liquid damage is not covered by the warranty.
Displays
The inner screen is a 7.95-inch foldable OLED at 2352 x 2172 pixels, and the outer screen is a 6.52-inch OLED at 2420 x 1080. Both are LTPO panels with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh range, so the phone can idle at low rates and scale up for scrolling and games. HONOR quotes HDR peak brightness of 5,000 nits for the inner panel and 6,000 nits for the cover panel, with global peak figures of 1,300 and 2,000 nits. Both panels use 4320Hz PWM dimming and show 1.07 billion colours. Those are manufacturer numbers measured in its own lab, so real-world brightness will differ with content and conditions.
One distinctive claim is the anti-reflective treatment. HONOR says a silicon nitride coating cuts screen reflectance to 1.5 percent, compared with 4.2 percent for a typical phone, to keep the display readable in direct light and to deepen blacks when the screen is dimmed. HONOR also states that the cover glass is durable enough to be used without a screen protector. The inner display supports stylus input (the HONOR Magic-Pen is sold separately) and an always-on display, and the eye-comfort set includes nine AI modes certified by TÜV Rheinland. The cover screen is a normal-width phone display, which matters because foldables live or die by whether the outer screen is usable on its own.
Performance and software
The Magic V6 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on a 3nm process, with a third-generation Oryon CPU of two prime cores at 4.6GHz and six performance cores at 3.62GHz, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. Memory and storage are listed as 16GB plus 512GB. On paper this is the same class of chip found in the top slab phones of the generation, which is relevant because many foldables have in the past shipped with a slightly older processor.
The software is MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. HONOR highlights several foldable-specific features: Fast-Flex, a gesture that opens a split screen and launches an AI tool or a chosen app, Multi-Flex window handling, one-swipe split screen and a horizontal split mode. The AI layer includes an AI Meeting Agent, call translation, Gemini integration with cross-app actions and, according to HONOR, a three-month trial of Google AI Pro with the phone. HONOR also leans on cross-platform features: the phone can act as a Mac screen extension, share notifications with an iPhone or Apple Watch, pair quickly with AirPods and give access to iCloud files, with iOS 17 and macOS 12 or newer required and some features delivered by later updates. Connectivity covers 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC (on the first SIM slot only), dual SIM or SIM plus eSIM, and a USB-C port with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and DisplayPort 1.2 output.
Camera
The rear camera has three lenses: a 50MP main camera (f/1.6 with optical stabilisation), a 50MP ultrawide (f/2.2) and a 64MP periscope telephoto (f/2.5 with optical stabilisation). HONOR specifies 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, and claims CIPA 6.5 stabilisation for the telephoto lens. Video goes up to 4K. The front cameras are two 20MP units, one on the inner screen and one on the cover screen. The marketing centres on colour: an AI colour engine and a multi-camera fusion approach that HONOR says is meant to reproduce colours accurately, plus modes such as AI Cinema Color and a revised night mode with custom exposure controls and cloud-based processing.
The positives here are a telephoto lens with a high-resolution sensor and a main sensor with stabilisation, which are not always present on thin foldables. The caveat is that the sensor sizes are not published on the pages reviewed, so judging low-light behaviour from numbers alone is not possible. Because the module has to fit inside a body this thin, expect the camera island to be one of the more prominent features of the back.
Battery and charging
The battery is rated at 6,660 mAh typical and 6,510 mAh rated, with a silicon-carbon design that HONOR says has about 25 percent silicon content and an energy density of 921 Wh/L. For a phone this thin, that capacity is the other headline. HONOR cites a TÜV Rheinland evaluation for 24 hours of mixed use on the inner screen and, in its own lab test, says 40 percent remained after 24 hours of mainstream use on the unfolded screen and 46 percent when folded. As always, those results come from controlled conditions, and a bright 7.95-inch panel used for video and games will drain faster.
Charging is 80W wired and 66W wireless with HONOR's own chargers, which are sold separately in some markets. HONOR states that the actual charging power varies with the scenario.
Who it is for and trade-offs
The Magic V6 is aimed at people who want a foldable that feels close to a normal phone in the pocket, who read and work on a large screen, and who care about dust and water resistance. The strengths on paper are the thin body, the large battery, the latest flagship processor and the unusually complete durability claims. For users inside the Apple ecosystem, the Mac and iPhone integration is a differentiator that few Android foldables advertise.
The compromises are the usual ones for the category and a few specific ones. A foldable costs far more than a slab phone, and HONOR does not state a US price on the pages reviewed here. The thickness figures exclude the camera bump, and the phone is still heavier than a standard slab at 219 to 224 g. Several software features arrive via updates, and the peak display and battery figures are lab numbers. Availability differs by region, and the company says specifications may change by market. Buyers who prioritise a stylus experience, specific camera sensor sizes or a guaranteed number of software update years should check the final product sheet for their country.
