The HONOR Magic7 Pro is the company's flagship phone for the 2025 global market. It combines a 6.8-inch OLED screen that reaches 5,000 nits in HDR, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, a 5,850 mAh silicon-carbon battery and an unusually high IP68 and IP69 protection rating. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information. It explains where the Magic7 Pro sits in HONOR's range, what the hardware offers, and which compromises remain in a phone that is designed to compete directly with the best flagships from Samsung and Apple.
Place in HONOR's lineup
The Magic series is HONOR's top line, positioned above the numbered and X-series phones and alongside the company's foldable Magic V models. The Magic7 Pro reached international markets in January 2025, after an earlier launch in China. HONOR lists it with a Lunar Shadow Grey, Breeze Blue and Black colour choice. Memory and storage come as 12GB with 512GB, or 16GB with 1TB. A successor in the same line, the Magic8 Pro, is already mentioned on HONOR's own product page, so buyers looking at the Magic7 Pro today are looking at a previous-generation flagship with its own set of advantages.
In the market, the phone competes with models such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which uses the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The Magic7 Pro vs Galaxy S25 Ultra comparison shows how the two differ in battery size, charging speed and camera hardware.
Design and display
HONOR lists the phone at 162.7 x 77.1 x 8.8 mm and 223 g including the battery. The back is dominated by a large circular camera module marked "Matrix Camera", which holds the main, ultrawide and telephoto cameras together with the flash and sensors. The finish is a frosted glass in the three colours, and HONOR protects the screen with its NanoCrystal Shield glass, which the company says has earned a five-star drop-resistance certification from SGS. This is a manufacturer claim based on a third-party certificate, not a guarantee about everyday falls.
The display is a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1280 x 2800 pixels (453 ppi) and an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz. HONOR states a peak brightness of 5,000 nits in HDR and 1,600 nits as a global peak across the whole screen, and it describes the shape as a micro-quad-curved display with rounded corners. The refresh rate is lower than the 165Hz of some gaming-oriented phones, but 120Hz is already fluid for scrolling and video, and the adaptive range helps battery life. Biometrics are unusually complete: an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display plus a 3D face recognition system that uses a dedicated depth camera.
Durability is a selling point. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69, meaning it is protected against dust and immersion, and against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. As HONOR points out in its footnotes, such protection is tested in laboratory conditions and is not permanent, so wear and tear can reduce it over time.
Performance and software
The Magic7 Pro runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite with two prime cores up to 4.32GHz and six performance cores up to 3.53GHz, plus an Adreno 830 GPU. HONOR describes an "Ultra Wide Area Cooling System" to handle heat, but it does not publish sustained-performance figures, so there is no verified claim here about long gaming sessions. Compared with a gaming phone such as the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro, which uses the same chip, the HONOR trades cooling extras for a thinner, lighter body.
The phone runs MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15. HONOR highlights an AI-focused interface with Google Gemini integration. As with any Android skin, MagicOS has its own look, its own gesture system and a number of added features, and some buyers will prefer it to the near-stock interface of a Pixel while others will not. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC and aptX HD codecs, a USB-C port with USB 3.2 Gen 1 speed, an infrared remote control, dual-SIM plus eSIM support and positioning through GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo. The update commitment should be verified in HONOR's regional documents before purchase, as this page does not state a guaranteed number of years.
Cameras
The rear system has three cameras. The main camera is a 50MP sensor of 1/1.3-inch size with an adjustable aperture from f/1.4 to f/2.0 and optical stabilisation. The ultrawide camera is 50MP with a 122-degree field of view and f/2.0 aperture, and it doubles as a macro camera that focuses as close as 2.5cm. The headline camera is the 200MP periscope telephoto, with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, f/2.6 aperture, optical stabilisation, 3x optical zoom and a digital zoom range that HONOR states reaches 100x. A single LED provides the flash, and the phone supports stabilisation through a combination of optical and electronic methods.
Two points deserve attention. First, a 200MP telephoto sensor with a 1/1.4-inch size is large for a zoom camera, and in practice the 3x zoom captures a lot of detail. Second, the zoom reaches 3x optically, which is a shorter reach than the 5x periscopes on some rivals, so very distant subjects still rely on digital processing. HONOR lists video recording up to 4K at 60fps on the rear cameras. Some AI features, such as AI Enhanced Portrait and AI Super Zoom, are marked as arriving through a later software update, which is a reminder to check which features are available at the time of purchase.
The front camera is a 50MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture and a 90-degree field of view, supported by a 3D depth camera, and it records 4K video. This gives selfie quality that is well above the average, and the depth sensor also enables the secure face unlock.
Battery and charging
The battery is a third-generation silicon-carbon lithium polymer cell with a typical capacity of 5,850 mAh (5,750 mAh rated). That is much larger than the 5,000 mAh found in many current flagships, and it is one of the main practical advantages of the phone. Wired charging is rated at 100W HONOR SuperCharge, and wireless charging at 80W, which is very high for wireless; the wireless charger is sold separately. HONOR notes that the actual charging power changes with the situation, as with all fast-charging systems, so the peak speed is not constant through the charge.
Together, the large capacity and fast charging address the two things buyers often complain about: endurance on busy days and time spent plugged in. The exact runtime depends on how the screen and the 5G radio are used.
Who it is for
The Magic7 Pro suits people who want a flagship with a big battery, very fast charging and a strong camera set, without the highest price tags of some rivals. It also suits users who value dust and water resistance and who like a large, bright screen. Photographers who enjoy a long telephoto lens for portraits and details will appreciate the 200MP sensor.
It is less obvious for buyers who want the longest and most clearly documented software support, close ties to a specific ecosystem, or a simple near-stock Android interface. To see how the HONOR sits among current phones, open the phone rankings.
Compromises to consider
- Availability and price: HONOR sells the phone region by region, so prices and warranty depend on the market, and this page lists no US price.
- Software: MagicOS is a heavily customised Android interface and some AI features depended on later updates.
- Telephoto reach: 3x optical zoom is shorter than the 5x of some competitors.
- Weight: at 223 g it is heavy for a 6.8-inch phone, a consequence of the large battery.
- Successor: HONOR already lists a newer Magic8 Pro on its site, so this is no longer the newest model in the line.
Overall, the HONOR Magic7 Pro is a well-rounded flagship that concentrates its effort on battery, charging, durability and the telephoto camera. If those are your priorities, and if you are comfortable with MagicOS, it is a strong alternative to the best-known flagships. If you prefer a larger ecosystem or a clearer update promise, look at the competition first.
