The Galaxy S26+ is the middle model of Samsung's Galaxy S26 family: bigger than the standard Galaxy S26, cheaper and less extreme than the Ultra. It brings a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen, a 4,900 mAh battery and 45W wired charging in a body that is only 7.3 mm thick. This page is a review based on the published specifications and manufacturer information. It explains where the phone fits in the lineup, what it offers over the smaller model, and what you give up compared with the Ultra.

Where it sits in the lineup

Samsung announced the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra on 25 February 2026 at a Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. In the United States the series went on general sale on 11 March 2026. The S26+ starts at $1,099.99 with 256GB of storage; a 512GB version is also offered. That puts it $200 above the standard Galaxy S26 and $200 below the Galaxy S26 Ultra. All three share a unified design language and the same colours: Cobalt Violet, White, Black and Sky Blue, plus Pink Gold and Silver Shadow sold only through Samsung's own store. The previous generation counterpart is the Galaxy S25+, and the page Galaxy S26+ vs Galaxy S25+ lines up the two side by side.

Design and display

The S26+ measures 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm and weighs 190 g. It uses an Armor Aluminum frame, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covers the front and back according to Samsung. The phone is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, which Samsung describes as submersion in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes in lab conditions. Compared with the Ultra, it is 24 g lighter and 0.6 mm thinner, and it has the plain rounded-rectangle shape without the larger camera island of the top model.

The display is a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Samsung states that the diagonal measures 6.7 inches over the full rectangle and 6.5 inches when the rounded corners are taken into account. The key difference from the smaller S26 is resolution: the S26+ has QHD+ where the S26 has FHD+, so text and fine detail are sharper on the larger phone. Samsung also lists its ProScaler feature, which improves how lower-resolution content is scaled up, as available on the S26+ and the Ultra but not on the S26. The Privacy Display that is the main novelty of the generation is exclusive to the Ultra, so the S26+ has an ordinary, always-wide-angle screen.

Performance and software

Samsung says the S26 and S26+ are powered by the Exynos 2600 processor on its own product pages, while the launch specification table notes that the type of processor may vary by device and market, listing both Exynos 2600 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy across the series. In practice this means the chip in your phone depends on where you buy it, and you should check the regional specification before purchase. Memory is 12GB with either 256GB or 512GB of storage; storage options may vary by carrier or country. Samsung describes the series as the most powerful hardware ever in a Galaxy S phone and highlights AI performance, efficiency and thermal management, but it publishes percentage gains only for the Ultra's chip, so there is no manufacturer figure to quote for the S26+ itself.

The software is the same as on the other models: Android 16 with One UI 8.5 and seven years of security updates for the series. Galaxy AI features include Photo Assist for describing photo edits in your own words, Now Nudge for contextual suggestions, Now Brief for reminders, an upgraded Circle to Search with Google that can recognize several objects at once, and a conversational Bixby alongside agents such as Gemini and Perplexity. Samsung adds that availability of AI functions depends on country and language, and basic Galaxy AI features are described as free. Security features include Call Screening, Privacy Alerts, a Private Album in Gallery and post-quantum cryptography for some system processes.

Camera

The S26+ has a triple rear camera: a 50MP wide camera with autofocus, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. Samsung calls 2x optical-quality zoom a result of the Adaptive Pixel sensor and lists 30x digital zoom. The front camera is 12MP with an 85-degree field of view. Video goes up to 8K at 30fps and 4K at 60fps. The camera hardware is identical to that of the standard S26, which means the extra money for the S26+ does not buy a better camera: the difference is in the screen and battery. Compared with the Ultra, you lose the 200MP sensor, the 5x periscope telephoto and the wider main aperture, and the maximum zoom is lower.

Software features are shared across the family. Samsung highlights Photo Assist with step-by-step editing that can be reviewed or undone, a Creative Studio for stickers and wallpapers, Document Scan that removes creases and fingers from scans, and improvements to the AI image processor that now extend to selfies. The Ultra-only items in Samsung's announcement, such as the APV codec and the horizontal lock in Super Steady, should not be assumed for the S26+.

Battery and charging

The battery is 4,900 mAh typical, with a rated minimum capacity of 4,755 mAh, and Samsung lists around 31 hours of video playback. Wired charging is Super Fast Charging 2.0 at up to 45W, which Samsung says reaches about 69% in around 30 minutes with a 45W adapter; the adapter is sold separately. Wireless charging reaches 20W, and Wireless PowerShare is included. Compared with the standard S26, which has a 4,300 mAh battery, 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, the S26+ is clearly the endurance and charging-speed upgrade. Compared with the Ultra, it has a smaller cell (the Ultra has 5,000 mAh) and slower wired charging (60W), but the QHD+ screen is the same resolution, so the gap is modest.

Who it is for

The S26+ suits people who want a large screen and a big battery without paying Ultra prices, and who do not need long-range zoom. It is a good fit for heavy video and gaming use, where the QHD+ panel and the 4,900 mAh battery matter more than a 5x lens. If you hold a Galaxy S24 or older, the improvements in software support, charging and AI features will be obvious. Competing large phones include the iPhone 17 and the Pixel 10, and the rankings page places all of these on a common scale.

Compromises

The main weakness of the S26+ is that it sits in a squeezed position. The standard S26 offers the same cameras and the same software for $200 less, while the Ultra adds a far more capable camera system for $200 more. Nothing in the S26+ camera set is new compared with the S26, so the price premium is about the screen size, resolution and battery rather than photography. At 190 g it is also a large phone, and the 45W charger is not in the box according to Samsung's own notes, so fast charging requires an extra purchase. The processor may differ depending on your market, which complicates comparisons with reviews written for another region. Finally, the headline privacy screen is not available here. For anyone who values compactness the S26 is the better pick, for anyone who wants the best camera the Ultra is, and the S26+ is the choice for people who simply want the bigger, longer-lasting version of the standard phone.
