The Xiaomi 15T is the more affordable half of Xiaomi's autumn 2025 T-series pair, a phone that borrows a Leica-engineered three-camera system, a flat 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and an IP68 rating, and then wraps them around a MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chip instead of a top-tier Snapdragon. The 5,500mAh battery and 67W wired charging round out the package. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information from Xiaomi's global site. It explains where the phone fits in the range, what each part of the hardware is meant to deliver, and which compromises matter before you choose it over a pricier sibling or a rival.

Place in the lineup

Xiaomi's T series sits between the budget Redmi and Poco lines and the expensive numbered flagships. The 15T was introduced in September 2025 together with the higher-specification Xiaomi 15T Pro, and the official global page gives 24 September 2025 as the date tied to its rollout, so treat the entry date as the announcement rather than a verified on-sale day in every country. The two phones share the Leica branding and much of the body, but they differ in the processor, the camera hardware and the charging speed, which is why many buyers will read the two pages side by side; the table at Xiaomi 15T vs Xiaomi 15T Pro does that. The line continued with the Xiaomi 17T, which shows how the series has moved on. Xiaomi's global page states no price, and none is given here.

Design and display

The phone is 163.2 mm tall, 78.0 mm wide and only 7.5 mm thick, and it weighs 194 g. Xiaomi describes a rounded body with a matte finish and a back cover that merges into the frame. Three colours are listed: Black, Gray and Rose Gold. The glass on the front is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and the phone is rated IP68, which Xiaomi tests with submersion in fresh water up to three metres for 30 minutes. The usual caveat applies: the rating covers laboratory conditions, and liquid damage is not covered by the warranty. A weight under 200 g with a battery this large is a genuine strength.

The screen is a flat 6.83-inch AMOLED with a 2772 x 1280 resolution, about 447 pixels per inch, an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and 12-bit colour covering the DCI-P3 gamut. Xiaomi quotes a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, but only over about a quarter of the display area, so this is a highlight figure and not a full-screen one. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are supported. For eye comfort the panel uses PWM dimming of up to 3,840Hz and carries three TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free and circadian friendliness. Three bezels are narrowed to 1.5 mm, according to the company. The display is the section where the 15T looks closest to a flagship.

Performance and software

The Dimensity 8400-Ultra is built on a 4nm process with eight Arm Cortex-A725 cores: one running up to 3.25GHz, three up to 3.0GHz and four up to 2.1GHz, plus a Mali-G720 graphics unit and an NPU 880 for AI tasks. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage in 256GB and 512GB versions. This is a strong upper-mid-range platform rather than the fastest chip on the market; in everyday use, social media, video and camera work it should feel quick, while the heaviest games at maximum settings are where a Snapdragon 8-series phone would hold an advantage. Xiaomi adds a 3D IceLoop cooling system and says it improved the vapour-chamber area and graphite sheet compared with the 14T.

The phone ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 2, and Xiaomi says HyperOS 3 would arrive by over-the-air update from the end of October 2025 in selected regions. The official page does not state an Android version, so this entry does not either. Google's Gemini assistant and Circle to Search are included, alongside Xiaomi's own HyperAI tools for writing, speech recognition, interpreting and search. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an IR blaster and dual SIM including eSIM options. The company also advertises an offline communication feature for voice calls of up to 1.3 km in open terrain, with the caveat that it is not meant for emergencies. The page directs buyers to a separate Xiaomi page for the minimum security-update period, so check it before buying.

Camera system

The three rear cameras are developed with Leica. The main camera uses a 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor of 1/1.55 inch, a 23mm-equivalent lens at f/1.7 and optical stabilisation, with 2.0 micrometre pixels binned four into one. Alongside it are a 50MP telephoto camera at a 46mm equivalent focal length and f/1.9, and a 12MP ultrawide at 15mm with a 120-degree view and f/2.2. Xiaomi says the combination covers 15mm to 92mm and offers four focal lengths in the viewfinder: 0.6x, 1x, 2x and 4x. Digital zoom reaches 60x, though quality at that level is naturally limited. The front camera is 32MP at f/2.2.

The 46mm telephoto is a modest lens rather than a long periscope, so the 15T is aimed at portraits and mid-range reach instead of distant subjects; the 15T Pro has the longer optics for those who need more. Xiaomi promotes two Leica colour styles, a street photography mode with 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm classic focal lengths, and a Master Portrait algorithm. Video goes up to 4K at 60 frames per second with 10-bit log and LUT import for creators, and HDR10+ recording is listed. All statements about image quality are manufacturer claims, and no test results are published on the pages used for this entry.

Battery and charging

The 5,500mAh typical-capacity battery is described by Xiaomi as the largest in the T series. It supports 67W HyperCharge with PD 3.0 and PD 2.0, and the company claims a full charge in about 50 minutes and a retained capacity of at least 80 percent after 1,600 cycles. It also quotes up to 13.19 hours of constant use in its own tests. No charger is included in the box, so a 67W adapter has to be bought or already owned. The pages used for this entry list no wireless charging, which is a point of difference from the more expensive Pro model for buyers who rely on a charging pad.

Who it is for

The Xiaomi 15T is for a buyer who wants flagship-looking display quality, a thin body, strong water protection and a respectable Leica-branded camera without paying for the best chip. It suits photographers who mostly shoot at 1x to 2x, parents who want IP68 durability, and people who stream video a lot. If you want the longest zoom or the fastest charging in the family, the Pro model in the phone rankings deserves a look. If you want a recent Samsung alternative with a similar price tier, compare the Galaxy S26.

Compromises to weigh

Based on the specifications published by the manufacturer, the 15T is a well-rounded phone that spends its budget on the parts people notice every day: the screen, the weight, the battery and the camera feel. It does not chase the biggest numbers in every category, and that restraint is exactly what makes it a sensible choice in the upper middle of the market.
