The OPPO Find X8 Pro is the larger and more camera-heavy of the two phones OPPO launched in the Find X8 generation. It combines a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, a 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED display, a 5,910 mAh silicon-carbon battery and a rear camera system with four 50MP sensors, two of them periscope telephotos. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information. It looks at what the Pro offers beyond the standard Find X8, how its hardware behaves in the areas that matter most, and which trade-offs a buyer accepts.
Where the Pro sits in the Find X8 family
OPPO released the Find X8 series in November 2024 with two models. The standard Find X8 is the compact one, and the Pro is the version for people who want every hardware option. The two share the same chip, the same fast-charging stack and the same dust and water rating, but they diverge on screen size, battery capacity and above all the camera: the Pro adds a second telephoto lens that reaches 6x optical, while the standard model stops at 3x. OPPO's own specification list shows the Pro in a single memory configuration of 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which keeps the range simple.
The phone also has a successor lineage inside OPPO's own catalogue. The Find X9 Pro builds on the same idea with a newer chip and a bigger battery, so anyone shopping for a discounted older flagship should look at how much the newer model changes before choosing. Against a rival with the same four-camera ambitions, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Pro offers a very different balance, which the Find X8 Pro vs Galaxy S25 Ultra comparison lays out in detail.
Display and build
The screen is a 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED panel with a 2780 x 1264 resolution, around 450 pixels per inch and 10-bit colour. OPPO states a dynamic refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, a typical brightness of 800 nits, a high-brightness mode of 1,600 nits and a peak of 4,500 nits. For dimming, the page mentions 2160Hz PWM, a high-frequency setting aimed at people who are sensitive to flicker. The cover glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The 4,500-nit peak is a manufacturer figure for a small highlight area, not a full-screen value, but the typical and high-brightness figures are also comfortable for outdoor use. The touch sampling rate is stated as up to 240Hz.
The body is about 162.27 mm tall, 76.67 mm wide and 8.24 mm thick in Space Black, and a slightly thicker 8.34 mm in Pearl White. The weight is about 215 g, which is noticeable but not extreme for a phone with a large battery and a big camera module. OPPO lists IP68 and IP69 ratings, so the phone is protected against immersion and against hot high-pressure water jets according to the manufacturer. In the official images the back has a large round camera island with a metal ring, and the phone is offered in Space Black and Pearl White.
Performance, connectivity and software
The Dimensity 9400 is built on a 3nm process, and OPPO pairs it with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The GPU is an Immortalis G925 MC12. OPPO also mentions its own Trinity Engine as part of the platform, without describing it in detail on the specification page. The class of hardware is the same as in other 2024 flagships, so everyday speed, long gaming sessions and photo processing are all well within its reach. What decides the real experience is thermal management and software tuning, both of which depend on the manufacturer rather than on the chip name alone.
Connectivity is thorough: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 with a long list of audio codecs including LDAC and aptX HD, NFC, dual-band GNSS and a USB-C port that supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds. The phone takes a physical nano-SIM plus an eSIM, and OPPO lists several regional band variants, so the exact 5G bands depend on the market where it is sold. The operating system is ColorOS 15.0. The official page does not describe the length of the update commitment, so that detail should be checked for the region. The box contains a charger, a cable and a protective case according to the OPPO listing, though contents can vary by market.
Camera system
The camera is the main reason to choose the Pro. All four rear sensors are 50MP. The main camera has a 1/1.4-inch sensor, an f/1.6 aperture, a 23mm equivalent focal length and optical stabilisation. The ultrawide has a 1/2.75-inch sensor, an f/2.0 aperture and a 120-degree field of view. The first telephoto is a 3x periscope unit at 73mm with a 1/1.95-inch sensor and f/2.6 aperture, and the second is a 6x periscope unit at 135mm with a 1/2.51-inch sensor and f/4.3 aperture. All of them have autofocus and, except for the ultrawide, optical stabilisation. OPPO describes a zoom range from 0.6x to 120x, of which optical zoom is up to 6x and digital zoom up to 18x on the specification sheet.
Two periscope lenses are unusual. Most flagships that offer long zoom use a single telephoto and rely on cropping and processing in between. Here the 3x and 6x lenses mean that portrait distance and mid-range zoom are covered by real glass, so the quality gap between 2x and 6x should be smaller than on phones that rely on digital crops. The trade-off is that the 6x lens has a narrow f/4.3 aperture, which lets in less light, so indoor and night photography at long range will lean on software processing. The front camera is a 32MP unit with an f/2.4 aperture, and both front and rear cameras can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. The phone also offers a quick-shot mode that OPPO describes as capturing up to 7 frames per second, a claim that is best judged in real use.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 5,910 mAh and a rated capacity of 5,770 mAh, with a silicon-carbon design. Silicon-carbon cells pack more energy into the same volume, which explains how OPPO fits a cell of this size into a body of just over 8 mm. Charging is 80W wired using OPPO's SUPERVOOC system, with PPS support, and 50W wireless using AIRVOOC. Fast wired and wireless charging together are not common at this level, and the combination means that a quick top-up on a desk and a slower overnight charge on a pad are both practical. The charger supplied in the box is part of the offer in many markets, but the box contents can vary.
Who the Find X8 Pro is for
The Pro suits photography enthusiasts who want real telephoto reach, people who regularly shoot 3x portraits or 6x street and travel photos, and users who want a large high-quality screen and fast charging in a single device. It is also a strong choice for someone who values water and dust protection and wants it combined with a premium camera set.
Compromises
The Pro is large and a little heavy, and anyone who prefers one-handed use should look at the smaller Find X8. The official page lists no US price, so buyers in North America should check availability, network band support and warranty coverage for their own region. The Dimensity 9400 chip is fast, but the app ecosystem and long-term software support differ from those of Samsung or Google devices. Finally, the 6x telephoto has a narrow aperture, so it works best in good light. These are considerations rather than flaws, but they decide whether the phone fits an individual buyer better than the alternatives listed in our rankings.
