The OPPO Reno15 is the mainstream model of OPPO's 2026 Reno line, and it is built around a simple idea: a phone that photographs people well and does not need charging every evening. It has a 6.59-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, a 6,500 mAh battery with 80W wired charging, and a camera trio that includes a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, a rarity at this level. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information from OPPO's global site, and OPPO's own statements are marked as claims.
Where it sits in the lineup
OPPO's global Reno15 series lists four models: the Reno15 Pro Max, the Reno15 Pro, this Reno15 and the Reno15 F. The standard Reno15 is the middle step. It is larger and more battery-heavy than the OPPO Reno15 Pro, which uses a smaller 6.32-inch panel, and it is clearly a step above the budget-minded OPPO Reno15 F, which drops the telephoto lens, the faster memory and the newer Wi-Fi standard. Above the whole Reno family sits the Find line, for example the OPPO Find X9 Pro, which is a different class of device with a different price. The model code on OPPO's specification page is CPH2825. The manufacturer pages we reviewed do not state a price or a US availability date, so this page carries no price. The launch date of 8 January 2026 comes from the wider rollout information and was not restated on the product page itself.
Design and durability
The Reno15 measures 158.00 x 74.83 mm and is 7.77 mm thick in Twilight Blue and 7.89 mm in Aurora White and Aurora Blue, with a listed weight of about 197 g. OPPO describes a one-piece sculpted glass back, ultra-thin screen bezels and an aerospace-grade aluminium frame. The back is the visual signature: a finish OPPO calls Dancing Aurora, made from millions of etched "OPPO Glow" textures that change appearance as the light moves, and a square camera ring that the company calls the Dynamic Stellar Ring. Three colours are offered: Aurora White, Aurora Blue and Twilight Blue.
Protection is listed as IP69, IP68 and IP66. OPPO says the phone was tested under controlled laboratory conditions to Chinese and international standards and that real-world results can vary with ageing and usage, and it warns against charging the phone while it is wet. A protective case and a charger are listed in the box, although the contents may vary by market. The front is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. There is no memory card slot, but the phone supports USB OTG and has a USB Type-C port. At 197 g it is not light, which is the price of the large battery.
Display
The screen is a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2760 x 1256 pixels, which works out to about 460 pixels per inch, and a screen-to-body ratio of 93.4 percent. The maximum refresh rate is 120Hz and the maximum touch sampling rate is 240Hz. OPPO lists typical brightness of 600 nits in normal use and 1,200 nits in high-brightness mode, 10-bit colour with 1.07 billion colours, and 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage in all three colour modes. HDR10+ certification is stated on the product page. OPPO also advertises Splash Touch and Glove Touch for operating the screen with wet hands or gloves. Compared with the Reno15 F, which tops out at 1,400 nits in its brightness mode but uses a lower resolution, the Reno15 trades a little peak brightness for a sharper image.
Performance and software
The Reno15 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform with an eight-core CPU and an Adreno 722 GPU running at 1,150 MHz. Memory is LPDDR5X and storage is UFS 3.1, in three combinations: 8GB with 256GB, 12GB with 256GB, and 12GB with 512GB. That is a clear advantage over the cheaper F model, which uses older LPDDR4X memory. The phone runs ColorOS 16, and OPPO claims a "6 years" smoothness promise, supported by an in-house scheduling system called Trinity Engine. OPPO's own gaming claims include adaptive frame stabilisation and a feature called AI HyperBoost 2.0, tuned for high frame rates in popular MOBA and shooter titles. These are laboratory figures and real-world results will differ with the title and the temperature.
The software page leans heavily on AI features: AI Mind Space, a three-finger swipe that captures what is on the screen and sorts it into collections; AI Translate and AI Call Translator; and an AI eraser that now also works on motion photos. OPPO states that some of these functions may not be included in the software version at launch and may arrive later through updates, that an account may be required, and that availability varies by country. In short, check which features your market actually receives. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 with a long list of audio codecs including LDAC, aptX Adaptive and LHDC 5.0, NFC depending on the region, dual nano-SIM plus eSIM support, and an infrared remote control.
Camera
The camera is the reason to pick the Reno15 over many rivals in its bracket. The main camera has 50MP, an f/1.8 aperture and two-axis optical stabilisation. The telephoto lens also has 50MP, an f/2.8 aperture, two-axis stabilisation and 3.5x optical zoom, with OPPO advertising a seamless range up to 120x, while the ultrawide camera has 8MP and a 116-degree field of view. All three rear lenses support autofocus. The telephoto lens is the practical highlight: a 3.5x focal length is a natural portrait distance, and having optical stabilisation there helps in dim light. The 8MP ultrawide is the weakest link, and the larger sibling Reno15 Pro uses a 50MP ultrawide instead, so photographers who shoot many wide-angle scenes might notice.
On the front is a 50MP ultrawide selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and a 100-degree field of view, designed for group selfies. Video goes up to 4K at 60 frames per second on the rear cameras with electronic and optical stabilisation, plus 4K at 60fps on the front, 1080p slow motion at 120fps and 720p at 240fps, and the phone supports Dual-view video recording and HDR video. OPPO's marketing centres on its Reno Portrait Engine and a skin-tone database, and on AI Portrait Glow and AI Flash Photography 2.0, which adjust lighting in portraits. As always, these are manufacturer descriptions, not independent test results, and several of the sample images on the product page were taken with other models in the Reno15 series.
Battery and charging
The battery is rated at 6,500 mAh typical, with a 6,335 mAh rated capacity, and charging is up to 80W SUPERVOOC or 80W UFCS, with compatibility for lower-power SUPERVOOC, PPS, PD and QC chargers. OPPO claims about 2.42 days of use on a single charge in its own tests, more than 11 hours of MOBA gaming and a charge from 1 percent to 100 percent in 50 minutes. Those figures come from OPPO's laboratory and depend on temperature, software and usage. A 6,500 mAh cell is among the larger ones you can find in a phone that is 7.8 mm thin, and it is the main reason the weight is close to 200 g. Compared with the 7,000 mAh cell of the Reno15 F, the standard model gives up a little capacity in exchange for a thinner body and the faster chip.
Who it is for
The Reno15 suits people who photograph friends and family more than landscapes, who want a battery that comfortably covers a long day, and who value water resistance and a modern chip but do not want to pay for a flagship. The telephoto lens and the 50MP selfie camera are its strongest cards. It also fits buyers who plan to keep a phone for several years, because OPPO's software promise is long, although you should read the actual update policy for your region. If you want a comparison inside the family, see the Reno15 against the Reno15 Pro, and for rankings across all devices see the phone rankings.
Compromises
There are trade-offs. The phone has no memory card slot, so the choice of 256GB or 512GB must be made at purchase. The ultrawide camera is only 8MP, and there is no macro camera. The weight of 197 g is noticeable for a 6.59-inch phone. OPPO does not publish a US price on the pages we reviewed, and OPPO's usual regional split means the exact variant, the supported 5G bands and the AI feature set differ from market to market; OPPO lists two different frequency-band versions on its specification page. Finally, many marketing claims, from the battery life to the six-year smoothness promise, are the company's own laboratory results and have not been independently verified on this page.
