The OnePlus 15 is the company's late-2025 flagship, built around Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a very large 7,300 mAh battery and a 6.78-inch display that can run at up to 165Hz in supported games. It replaces the OnePlus 13 and changes more than the usual spec bump: the camera island is now a square block instead of a round disc, the Hasselblad name no longer appears on the published specification page, and OnePlus has added dedicated chips for touch response and Wi-Fi. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information and looks at what the phone offers, where it sits against its rivals and what you give up.

Place in the lineup

OnePlus presented the OnePlus 15 in November 2025, with Canada among the first markets to receive it on 13 November 2025 and a global rollout following. In the United States the company listed the 12GB/256GB model at $899.99 and the 16GB/512GB model at $999.99, with prices subject to change. A cheaper sibling, the OnePlus 15R, exists alongside it, but this page covers only the flagship. Three colours are offered: Infinite Black, Ultra Violet and Sand Storm. Not every colour is sold in every configuration; in the US, the base model was announced in Infinite Black only.

The phone competes directly with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Pixel 10 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro. Against the first of those, you can line up the numbers in the OnePlus 15 vs Galaxy S25 Ultra comparison. OnePlus's usual pitch is similar hardware to the big names at a lower price, and the OnePlus 15 follows that approach.

Design and display

The OnePlus 15 measures 161.4 x 76.7 x 8.2 mm and weighs 215 g in Infinite Black and Ultra Violet; the Sand Storm version is slightly thinner at 8.1 mm and lighter at 211 g. The most visible change is on the back, where a squared-off camera module houses the three lenses and the flash. The phone is rated IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K according to the US product page, which covers dust, immersion and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. As always with such ratings, they describe lab conditions and are not a promise for every real-world splash.

The display is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel at 2772 x 1272 pixels, roughly 450 pixels per inch, in a 20:9 aspect ratio. OnePlus describes it as an FHD+ or 1.5K panel. The refresh rate is adaptive from 1 to 120Hz, and the company states that games can drive it up to 165Hz when they support that mode. Peak brightness in high-brightness mode is given as 1,800 nits, the panel covers 100 percent of DCI-P3 with 10-bit colour, and a minimum brightness of 1 nit is listed for dark rooms. Protection comes from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The resolution is lower than the QHD+ panel of the OnePlus 13, which makes this one a step down in pixel density. The company also lists eye-comfort features such as a reduced white point and motion cues, and the display carries TÜV Rheinland eye-care certification.

Performance and software

The chipset is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with Qualcomm's Oryon CPU cores clocked up to 4.608GHz and an Adreno 840 GPU. Memory is LPDDR5X (12GB or 16GB) and storage is UFS 4.1 (256GB or 512GB). Beyond the main processor, OnePlus adds two separate pieces of silicon: a touch response chip that the company says samples at 3,200Hz, and a dedicated Wi-Fi chip meant to keep connections stable during gaming. These are manufacturer claims and the practical effect will depend on the game and network. For cooling, OnePlus describes a 360-degree Cryo-Velocity cooling system that uses aerogel insulation and white graphite.

The phone ships with OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16. OnePlus promotes its own AI tools under the OnePlus AI banner, including Plus Mind, which saves on-screen content for later retrieval, and Google's Gemini is integrated as well. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and eSIM alongside a dual nano-SIM tray, plus a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and an infrared remote control. An alert slider is not mentioned on the specification sheet, so buyers who rely on one should check the retail listing.

Camera

The rear system has three 50MP cameras. The main camera uses a Sony IMX906 sensor with an f/1.8 lens, optical stabilisation and an 84-degree field of view. The ultra-wide is a 50MP OV50D sensor at f/2.0 with a 116-degree view and autofocus. The telephoto is a 50MP sensor behind an f/2.8 lens with optical stabilisation, giving 3.5x optical zoom; OnePlus claims 7x zoom of optical quality and up to 120x digital zoom. Having a full-resolution ultra-wide and telephoto is helpful, because the three lenses should produce a consistent look across focal lengths.

Video recording goes up to 8K at 30 frames per second, with 4K at up to 120 frames per second and Dolby Vision support, and OnePlus mentions LOG recording for people who grade footage. The front camera is a 32MP Sony IMX709 with autofocus and an f/2.4 aperture. One thing to note: the earlier OnePlus 13 carried Hasselblad branding and tuning, and the OnePlus 15's specification page does not mention it, so the colour style may differ from what OnePlus 13 owners expect. Without independent tests, it is not possible to say whether image quality improves.

Battery and charging

The OnePlus 15 uses a dual-cell battery with a typical capacity of 3,650 mAh per cell, advertised as 7,300 mAh in total; the rated capacity is 3,575 mAh per cell, or 7,150 mAh. OnePlus describes the cells as silicon-carbon, which allows more capacity in a similar volume. This is one of the largest batteries in a mainstream flagship, well above the 6,000 mAh of the OnePlus 13. Charging is where regions differ: the global specification lists 120W SUPERVOOC wired charging, while the US and Canadian pages list 80W, with up to 100W using an optional adapter. Wireless charging is rated at 50W AIRVOOC with a compatible charger. The box contains a USB data cable, but the global sheet lists no charger, so check what your market includes.

Who it is for

This phone suits people who value battery life and sustained performance over compactness, mobile gamers who want a high refresh rate and strong cooling, and anyone who wants a flagship chip without the highest-end price. Upgrading from the OnePlus 13 is harder to justify unless the battery size or the new gaming hardware matters to you.

Compromises
