The OnePlus Nord 6 is OnePlus's 2026 performance-and-battery mid-range phone, built around a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, a 165 Hz AMOLED screen and a very large battery with 80W wired charging. OnePlus first launched it in India, where its product page states a launch date of 7 April 2026, and it has since appeared on OnePlus's global site. This review is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information, so performance, battery and durability numbers that come from OnePlus's own lab are treated as claims. One detail to keep in mind from the start: the battery is not the same everywhere. The global specification sheet lists 7,500 mAh, while the India page advertises 9,000 mAh.

Where it fits in the lineup

The Nord line is OnePlus's value branch, sitting below the flagship numbered series such as the OnePlus 15 and the OnePlus 13. OnePlus leans on that relationship in its marketing, claiming flagship-like smoothness and a family look. The global model comes in two configurations, 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage and 12 GB with 512 GB, in Fresh Mint and Pitch Black; the India page also shows a Quick Silver colour. To see how the mid-range phone trades against the previous flagship, the OnePlus Nord 6 vs OnePlus 13 comparison lines up the main figures.

Design and build

The phone measures 162.46 x 77.45 x 8.50 mm and weighs 210 g. The front is a flat display with bezels OnePlus says are as thin as 1.6 mm, and the back and frame have rounded edges. OnePlus describes the look as clean and understated. Durability is a real selling point: the page lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, which cover dust protection, immersion, high-pressure water jets and hot water, and MIL-STD-810H military-standard testing. The display glass is branded Crystal Guard, which OnePlus says is comparable in drop performance to Gorilla Glass Victus+ and shows 300 percent better scratch resistance and 160 percent better drop resistance in its own testing against an unnamed baseline. As always with immersion ratings, OnePlus notes the phone is meant for fresh water only and that water resistance can diminish over time.

Display

The screen is a 6.78 inch Sunburst AMOLED panel with a 2772 x 1272 resolution (about 450 ppi), a 19.6:9 aspect ratio and a 93.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. The refresh rate goes up to 165 Hz, with steps at 60, 90, 120 and 144 Hz. OnePlus lists adjustable brightness up to 800 nits, 1,800 nits full-screen peak in HDR and 3,600 nits peak, 10-bit colour with 100 percent sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage, touch response up to 3,200 Hz and 3,840 Hz PWM dimming for reduced flicker. The company also highlights Aqua Touch 2.0 for use with wet fingers. A 165 Hz panel is unusual at this tier, and it is mostly useful for gaming and smoothness rather than everyday reading.

Performance and software

The chip is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 with an Adreno 825 GPU, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage. The RAM options are 8 GB and 12 GB, with optional RAM expansion using storage. OnePlus quotes an AnTuTu score of 2,503,854 for a 12 GB device and says it was measured with Performance mode on at a low ambient temperature of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius, so treat it as a best-case marketing figure rather than a typical result. The company also claims 164.7 fps average in PUBG and 164.5 fps in Call of Duty Mobile for an hour at the highest frame-rate settings, with surface temperatures around 45 degrees Celsius. These numbers come from OnePlus's test lab, with the Pro Gamer mode and Adaptive Frame Booster enabled.

The software is OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. OnePlus promises four Android OS updates and six years of security updates, and says the system was rated A for 72 months of fluency in its own tests. There is also a custom Wi-Fi chip, which OnePlus calls Range Rocket, plus Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 with aptX, LDAC and LHDC 5.0 support, NFC, an infrared blaster and a customisable Plus Key. There is no eSIM, and the phone supports dual nano-SIM with Dual SIM Dual Active.

Camera

The rear camera system has two lenses, which is a point to note. The main camera is a 50 MP Sony LYTIA-600 sensor (1/1.953 inch) with an f/1.8 aperture, a 26 mm equivalent focal length, phase-detection autofocus and dual-axis optical and electronic stabilisation. The second camera is an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor with a 112 degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. There is no dedicated telephoto lens: OnePlus offers 2x in-sensor zoom and digital zoom up to 20x. Video goes up to 4K at 60 fps. The front camera is a 32 MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture, a 90 degree field of view and a multi-focus sensor aimed at group selfies, recording 4K at 30 fps. OnePlus also lists a suite of AI photo tools, including Portrait Glow, Eraser, Perfect Shot, Unblur, Reflection Eraser and Detail Boost, some of which may arrive by software update in some regions.

Battery and charging

This is the Nord 6's main talking point. The global version carries a 7,500 mAh battery and the India version 9,000 mAh, both with 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging. OnePlus quotes test-lab results for the global model of 22.9 hours of YouTube, 14.2 hours of Google Maps navigation, 9.4 hours of PUBG and 5.3 hours of 4K 60 fps video, and says a five minute charge gives up to 2.5 hours of YouTube. The India page gives higher figures matching its bigger cell, for example 26.9 hours of YouTube. The global specification sheet also lists 13.5W PD charging with up to 55W PPS and reverse wired charging at 6.5W. A bypass charging mode feeds the phone directly while gaming, and OnePlus claims the battery retains more than 80 percent of its capacity after five years of daily charging cycles. The list of in-box items names a USB cable but no charger, so you may need to supply the 80W brick.

Who it is for

The Nord 6 suits people who prioritise gaming smoothness, battery endurance and durability over camera versatility, and who want a long software support window without paying flagship prices. Heavy mobile gamers and travellers who want ingress protection and a big battery are the obvious audience.

Compromises

OnePlus does not give a US launch price on the pages used for this review, so none is listed. For a wider look at the market, see the phone rankings.
