The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the largest model of Samsung's Galaxy Tab S11 series, announced on 4 September 2025 alongside the 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11. Samsung calls it the thinnest Galaxy Tab to date and the first Galaxy tablet to launch with One UI 8. This page is based on Samsung's UK press release and its specification table and footnotes. Statements about improvements are Samsung's, and the ones about performance compare the S11 Ultra with the Tab S10 Ultra.
Thin, big and bright
The Tab S11 Ultra has a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 2960 by 1848 pixels and 120 Hz, with an anti-reflection layer. Samsung gives a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and 1,000 nits in high brightness mode for outdoors. The footnote says the 14.6 inches is measured diagonally as a full rectangle and is 14.5 inches when accounting for rounded corners, with the real viewable area smaller because of the corners and the camera hole. The tablet is just 5.1 mm thick with 5.2 mm bezels, and it weighs 692 grams for the Wi-Fi version and 695 grams for the 5G version. Its dimensions are 208.5 by 326.3 millimetres. It is rated IP68, with Armor Aluminum, and Samsung's long footnote spells out the test: submersion in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for 30 minutes, not advised for beach or pool use, with a reminder that resistance is not permanent. The colours are Grey and Silver.
Performance
Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, and Samsung says this is its enhanced 3 nm processor arriving in a Galaxy Tab for the first time. Compared with the Tab S10 Ultra, Samsung states improvements of 33 percent for the NPU, 24 percent for the CPU and 27 percent for the GPU, and notes that real performance depends on the user's environment and software. Memory options are 12 GB with 256 GB or 512 GB, and 16 GB with 1 TB, with microSD up to 2 TB. Samsung also mentions efficient thermal management, and a typical battery capacity of 11,600 mAh with 45 W charging; the rated minimum capacity given in the footnote is 11,374 mAh. The release gives no hours of battery life.
One UI 8 and Galaxy AI
The main software story is One UI 8, which Samsung says brings multimodal AI: the tablet understands what the user types, says and sees. Gemini Live can share the screen or a camera view for a spoken conversation about what is shown, for example explaining a chart from a lecture. Holding the side button activates Gemini for commands across apps, such as summarising an article and saving it to Samsung Notes. Drawing Assist turns rough sketches into cleaner visuals, which can be dragged into Samsung Notes; the footnote says a visible watermark marks AI output. Writing Assist reworks tone and style, and a floating overlay lets users summarise what is on screen while multitasking, though it works only in Samsung Notes and Samsung Internet. Circle to Search with Google translates text in real time while scrolling. Samsung is careful to note that AI features need a Samsung account, that accuracy is not guaranteed, and that language availability varies.
A redesigned S Pen
The box includes a redesigned S Pen with a cone-shaped tip that allows greater tilt angles and a hexagonal body that Samsung says feels more natural and stable. Quick Tools give floating access to settings while drawing or editing, and Sticky Note lets users jot something down over Samsung Notes without switching apps. The footnote says this S Pen does not support BLE, and that Quick Tools currently work only in PENUP and Samsung Notes. The S Pen is IP68 rated like the tablet.
Samsung DeX and accessories
DeX gains an Extended Mode that turns the tablet and an external monitor into a dual-screen setup, with apps that can be dragged between displays, and up to four customisable workspaces. The footnote warns that wireless DeX works only with TVs that support Miracast for Android tablets, that some apps may restart when switching displays and that unsaved data may be lost. The Book Cover Keyboard Slim has a dedicated Galaxy AI Key, and other accessories are the Book Cover, Frame Cover and an anti-reflecting screen protector as an add-on, all sold separately. Third-party apps mentioned include Goodnotes, Clip Studio Paint, LumaFusion and Notion, with launch offers such as a free year of Goodnotes.
Connectivity, cameras and sound
The Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7, though Samsung's footnote says a Wi-Fi 7 router is needed and availability varies, and 5G (Sub-6) on cellular models. It has dual SIM support with one physical SIM and one eSIM, a fingerprint sensor under the display and quad speakers. The cameras are a 13MP main and 8MP ultra-wide on the back and a 12MP ultra-wide on the front.
Price and availability
UK prices at launch were 1,199 pounds (256 GB Wi-Fi), 1,299 pounds (512 GB), 1,549 pounds (1 TB), 1,349 pounds (256 GB 5G), 1,449 pounds (512 GB 5G) and 1,699 pounds (1 TB 5G). The tablet was available from 4 September 2025. Buyers on samsung.com could claim a free Book Cover Keyboard Slim, on purchases until 28 October 2025, and a guaranteed 200 pounds off when trading in any tablet or Android smartphone in any condition, for purchases until 30 September 2025.
In Samsung's words
Annika Bizon, who leads mobile product and marketing for Samsung in the UK and Ireland, called the Tab S11 series the company's most powerful and efficient tablets yet, with the latest Galaxy AI capabilities meant to enhance creativity and let users adapt to life's demands in a design that fits into their everyday. The release frames the Ultra around three scenarios: capturing ideas in a meeting, summarising lecture notes and sketching visual concepts. It also says the S11 series is optimised for a large screen and that One UI 8 will expand to earlier devices, including the Galaxy Tab S10 series, from October 2025.
What the release leaves out
The press release does not state software update years, the speaker power, charger inclusion or the reported battery life in hours. It also treats the S11 Ultra and the smaller S11 together, so their differences must be read from the table: the S11 has an 11-inch 2560 by 1600 display, an 8,400 mAh battery and Wi-Fi 6E.
Where it fits
The S11 Ultra follows the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, and buyers who prefer a slightly smaller screen can look at the Galaxy Tab S10+. Its main rival for creative work is the iPad Pro with M5, and the page Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra versus iPad Pro M5 lines them up.
