The Galaxy Tab S10+ is the 12.4-inch model of Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 series. Samsung unveiled it on 26 September 2024 together with the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and called them its first tablets purposefully built for AI. It went on sale in the UK from 3 October 2024. This page is based on Samsung's UK press release and its specification table. Where the release talks about the Ultra only, we say so, and we describe the S10+ from the columns of the table that apply to it.

Display and design

The Tab S10+ has a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 2800 by 1752 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an anti-reflection layer. Samsung says the anti-reflective technology minimises glare and reduces the reflection rate so that every detail stays clear from any angle and in any environment, including outdoors. The tablet measures 185.4 by 285.4 by 5.6 millimetres and weighs 571 grams for the Wi-Fi model and 576 grams for the 5G model. Samsung stresses durability: an IP68 rating, with the footnote explaining that it means water resistance up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, not advised for beach or pool use, and Enhanced Armour Aluminium. The S Pen that comes in the box is also IP68 rated. Colours are Moonstone Grey and Platinum Silver.

Performance

The specification table lists a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor. Samsung's own performance claim for the S10+ is a 16 percent increase in CPU, 27 percent in GPU and 13 percent in NPU compared with the Galaxy Tab S9+. The larger 18, 28 and 14 percent figures in the opening paragraphs refer to the Ultra compared with the Tab S9 Ultra. Memory is 12 GB with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage, and microSD cards up to 1.5 TB are supported. The operating system at launch was Android 14.

S Pen and productivity

An S Pen (BLE) comes in the box. Samsung's software claims are built around it: Note Assist for automated transcriptions and summaries, PDF Overlay Translation that translates PDFs through an on-screen overlay, and Handwriting Help that cleans up untidy handwriting. Circle to Search with Google lets you circle anything on the screen without switching apps, translates images, video or text in two taps, and, according to Samsung, can recognise and outline steps for physics and maths problems. Air Command with AI on the S Pen offers quick access to Galaxy AI assistant features. Samsung mentions that Sketch to Image is described for the Ultra, so we do not assume it is on the S10+. Footnotes say that some AI features need a Samsung account, a network connection, or specific language support.

Galaxy AI Key and keyboards

The new Galaxy AI Key on the Book Cover Keyboards lets you launch AI assistants with written prompts, and Samsung says users can choose between its Bixby and Google's Gemini. The keyboards are sold separately, and the specification table lists the Book Cover Keyboard, the Book Cover Keyboard Slim and the Smart Book Cover as accessories. Keyboard layout and features may vary by model or language, according to the footnote.

Connected home

Samsung positions the tablet as a home AI device. A 3D Map View gives a visual overview of the home and connected devices, the SmartThings widget shows the status of SmartThings-enabled devices, and SmartThings Energy with AI Energy Mode helps monitor energy consumption. This is a software feature set that depends on owning compatible smart-home devices.

Audio, cameras and connectivity

There is a quad-speaker setup with AI-powered Dialogue Boost, which Samsung says amplifies voices over unwanted noise. The rear cameras are a 13MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide, and the front camera is a 12MP ultra-wide. Fingerprint on display is the biometric option, and the tablet supports both a physical SIM and an eSIM on cellular models. The table gives Bluetooth 5.3, and the network rows for the two tablets in the series differ; we do not restate Wi-Fi generations because the column alignment in the source table is ambiguous, so check the official specification before buying.

Battery and charging

The battery is 10,090 mAh (typical, tested under third-party laboratory conditions) with 45W charging. Samsung says long-lasting battery life and Super-Fast Charging let the tablet be used for longer with less waiting, and footnotes point out that actual battery life varies and that charging speed depends on battery level and other factors. Only Samsung-approved chargers and cables should be used.

Side by side with the Ultra

Because the release prints one table for both tablets, the differences are easy to list. The S10+ has a 12.4-inch, 2800 by 1752 display against the Ultra's 14.6-inch, 2960 by 1848 one, weighs 571 grams against 718 grams, and has a 10,090 mAh battery against 11,200 mAh. Its top memory option is 12 GB with 512 GB, while the Ultra reaches 16 GB with 1 TB. The rear cameras are the same 13MP and 8MP ultra-wide pair, but the Ultra has two front cameras and the S10+ one. The UK starting price was 999 pounds against 1,199 pounds for the Ultra.

Pricing and availability

UK recommended prices at launch were 999 pounds for the 256 GB Wi-Fi model, 1,149 pounds for 256 GB with 5G, 1,099 pounds for 512 GB Wi-Fi and 1,249 pounds for 512 GB with 5G. Samsung also offered a trade-in on samsung.com worth at least 100 pounds off with any old tablet in any condition; that offer ended on 22 October 2024. The tablet was available from 3 October 2024 from Samsung.com and retail partners.

What the release does not say

The release does not give battery life in hours, the included charger, the peak brightness of the display, or how the anti-reflection layer compares numerically with other tablets. Its performance figures are relative to the Tab S9+. It also does not tell you which of the third-party apps it lists come preloaded: the footnote says Sketchbook and PicsArt need a separate download, and subscriptions may be required for some apps.

Who should buy it

The Tab S10+ is for people who want a large, bright, pen-first Android tablet without paying for the 14.6-inch size of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. If price matters more, compare the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, and if you are upgrading from an older model look at the Galaxy Tab S9. Apple fans can weigh it against the iPad Air with M3, and the Galaxy Tab S10+ versus iPad Air M3 page puts the two together. The full list is in tablets.
