The Galaxy Tab S10 FE and its bigger sibling, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+, are Samsung's more affordable tablets in the Tab S line. Samsung announced them on 2 April 2025 as new entry points to the Galaxy ecosystem on a premium tablet design, and they are the first FE models to ship with the Galaxy AI feature set out of the box. This page collects what Samsung published in its press release and specification table, labels performance statements as claims and lists what the announcement does not tell you. Prices below are Samsung's UK recommended prices because that is the release we used.

Price, sizes and colours

Samsung's UK announcement lists the Galaxy Tab S10 FE from 499 pounds and the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ from 649 pounds, in 5G and Wi-Fi variants and in three colours: Grey, Silver and Blue. Buyers in Samsung's online store and at participating retailers could also claim an AI Book Cover Keyboard Slim worth up to 169 pounds. The S10 FE has a 10.9-inch screen and the S10 FE+ a 13.1-inch screen, the largest yet on the FE series and almost 12 percent larger than the previous FE+ according to Samsung. Both are 6.0 mm thick. The S10 FE weighs 497 grams as a Wi-Fi model and 500 grams with 5G, and the S10 FE+ weighs 664 and 668 grams. Samsung also says the S10 FE is more than 4 percent lighter than its predecessor.

Display

Both tablets use LCD panels with up to 90 Hz refresh, and Samsung says visibility reaches up to 800 nits in high brightness mode. Slim bezels make the display larger on the FE+. Vision Booster adjusts brightness and visibility automatically outdoors, and Samsung says blue-light emissions are reduced to limit eye strain. Samsung describes both screens as LCD panels and does not publish resolution figures in the release we used, so compare the panel type and resolution against the flagship Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra before you decide.

Exynos 1580, memory and storage

The specification table lists the Exynos 1580 processor and memory options of 8 GB with 128 GB and 12 GB with 256 GB, plus a microSD slot supporting cards up to 2 TB. Samsung says performance upgrades help users switch between apps for better multitasking and provide smooth gameplay, without giving benchmark numbers. The software is Android 15. The rear camera is a 13MP sensor, an upgrade in Samsung's words for capturing clear and vivid photos in classrooms and workspaces, and the front camera is a 12MP ultra-wide unit for video calls.

Battery and charging

Samsung lists an 8,000 mAh battery for the S10 FE and a 10,090 mAh battery for the S10 FE+, both with 45W wired charging. The 45W power adapter is sold separately, and the numbers are typical values tested under laboratory conditions rather than guaranteed hours of use. Samsung's announcement does not quote hours of video playback, so real battery life has to be judged from independent testing.

Toughness and the S Pen

The FE series carries the same IP68 rating as the Galaxy Tab S10 series. Samsung defines the test as water resistance in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes and dust protection, and it says the protection is not permanent and may diminish over time. It also advises against use at the beach or in the pool. An S Pen is included in the box, though its Bluetooth functions are not supported, so remote gestures and similar features should not be expected. A fingerprint sensor sits in the power key, and there is dual SIM support with one physical SIM and one eSIM on the 5G models.

Galaxy AI on an FE tablet

This is the first FE tablet series with Samsung's AI features from day one. Circle to Search with Google lets you search what you see without changing app, including translating on-screen text and step-by-step homework help. In Samsung Notes, Solve Math calculates handwritten and typed equations and Handwriting Help tidies up notes. A Galaxy AI Key on the Book Cover Keyboard opens AI assistants with one tap and can be customised. Photo tools include an upgraded Object Eraser with automatic suggestions, Best Face for group photos and Auto Trim, which compiles highlight reels from several videos. Creative apps such as LumaFusion, Goodnotes, Clip Studio Paint, Noteshelf 3, Sketchbook and Picsart are pre-loaded or highlighted, and the Home Insight widget with 3D Map View summarises SmartThings devices. Samsung adds that the tablets are protected by Knox, its multi-layer security platform. Some AI features need a network connection or a Samsung account, so check what applies in your country.

Choosing between the FE and the FE+

The two models share the same processor, the same 90 Hz refresh rate, the same cameras and the same IP68 protection, so the decision is mostly about size. The FE+ adds about two inches of diagonal, a battery about a quarter larger on paper (10,090 mAh against 8,000 mAh) and roughly 167 grams of extra weight in the Wi-Fi version. That makes the smaller S10 FE the easier tablet to hold with one hand or to slide into a bag, while the FE+ is the more comfortable choice for split-screen work, drawing with the S Pen and watching video. The price gap in the UK is 150 pounds at the starting configuration.

What the release does not say

Samsung's press release is a launch document. It does not quote the display resolution, the speaker power, the length of the software support promise for these two tablets or independent benchmark results. It also mentions that some accessories, such as the AI Book Cover Keyboard Slim offer, were tied to specific retailers and dates, so the promotion may no longer be available. Anyone comparing prices today should check the current listings and the exact memory and storage variant on offer, because Samsung says storage availability varies by region and that pre-installed software takes part of the advertised capacity.

How it compares

The Tab S10 FE family sits below the top Tab S10 models and above the entry-level Tab A range, so its natural rivals are mid-range tablets with a stylus. Apple's iPad Air (M3) is a more expensive alternative, Google's Pixel Tablet takes a very different approach built around a speaker dock, and the older Galaxy Tab S9 shows what the S line offered a generation earlier. The Galaxy Tab S10 FE vs Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra table shows how much you gain by paying for the flagship. Our tablets section lists every model we track.
