The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 is a slim fitness band rather than a full smartwatch. It has a 1.72-inch AMOLED touchscreen, more than 150 sports modes, 5 ATM water resistance and, according to Xiaomi, up to 21 days of battery life in typical use. It pairs with the Mi Fitness app on Android and iOS and is the tenth generation of Xiaomi's band line. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information, and it looks at the band's place in the range, its design and display, health and sports tracking, smart features, battery life, who it suits and where it compromises.
Place in the lineup
The Smart Band 10 comes in three versions that share the same basic electronics. The standard Band 10 has an aluminium alloy frame and a TPU strap in Midnight Black, Glacier Silver or Mystic Rose. The Glimmer Edition is a 10th-anniversary variant in Glimmer Gold with a stainless steel and glass-crystal bracelet set with six Preciosa crystals and a special crystal-themed watch face. The Ceramic Edition has a ceramic frame and clasp with a Pearl White fluororubber strap. Xiaomi compares the band with its predecessor, the Band 9, on the screen: a larger share of the front given to the display, a brighter panel and a smoother refresh rate, as detailed below. Xiaomi does not publish a US price for this band on its global pages, so none is given here. As a basic wrist tracker it competes with the Huawei Band 11, while buyers who want a round multisport watch with maps and a bigger battery can step up to the Amazfit Balance 3. A direct data comparison is at Xiaomi Smart Band 10 vs Huawei Band 11.
Design and display
The standard band measures 46.57 x 22.54 x 10.95 mm without the heart-rate sensor bump and weighs 15.95 g without the strap. The Glimmer Edition has the same dimensions and weighs 16.25 g, while the Ceramic Edition is slightly larger at 47.74 x 23.94 mm and clearly heavier at 23.05 g. The frame of the standard model is sandblasted aluminium alloy with a satin-metal finish. The wrist circumference range is 135 to 210 mm for the standard and Ceramic versions and 135 to 180 mm for the Glimmer Edition.
The display is a 1.72-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 212 x 520 pixels. It is a pill-shaped screen inside a standard rectangle, and Xiaomi measures the diagonal on the rectangle. A vacuum filling and sealing process allows symmetrical 2.0 mm bezels, which raise the screen-to-body ratio from 66 to 73 percent compared with the Band 9. Peak brightness is stated at 1,500 nits in high brightness mode with automatic adjustment, about 25 percent brighter than before, and the refresh rate is 60Hz, which Xiaomi says is an improvement, although the figure can vary between interfaces. These are measurements from Xiaomi's labs. A new quick-release strap design makes changing bands easy, and six new straps and accessories are on offer, including a silk-knit strap, a leather strap, a magnetic strap, an asymmetrical metal strap, a multi-colour fluororubber strap and a pearl-chain pendant. Xiaomi notes that leather, silk, magnetic and metal straps should not be worn while swimming or sweating, and that straps are retail accessories sold separately.
Health and sports tracking
The sensor package covers an accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, optical heart-rate and pulse oximeter and ambient light sensor. Xiaomi describes a nine-axis motion sensor with upgraded algorithms. The band offers all-day heart-rate monitoring with alerts for high and low readings, blood oxygen monitoring with alerts for low saturation, stress monitoring with relax prompts and menstrual cycle tracking. Xiaomi states clearly that the product and its features are not designed for medical purposes and are not intended to diagnose or treat any condition; the data is for personal wellbeing reference only.
For sports, the band supports more than 150 modes and reports metrics such as VO2 max, training load and recovery time. Swimming is a highlight: with AI-enhanced stroke recognition, Xiaomi claims 96 percent accuracy for lap counts in its tests, and the band can show heart rate in real time underwater for the first time in the series. Water resistance is 5 ATM, certified by TUV SUD under ISO 22810:2010, which means pool swimming and shallow water activities are fine, but the band is not suitable for hot showers, saunas or diving. Cyclists get heart rate broadcast over Bluetooth to a bike computer, provided the receiver supports the Bluetooth heart rate protocol. There are 10 built-in running courses, a real-time pace comparison and a Vitality score that turns seven days of movement into one number. The page does not list a GPS chip, so outdoor route tracking is not a feature to expect from the band alone.
Sleep tracking is a second focus. Xiaomi says it developed its sleep guidance in collaboration with international sleep societies and offers a daily, weekly and monthly sleep trend report, a sleep score and a 21-day sleep improvement plan. Some of these functions must be switched on manually and need the latest version of the Mi Fitness app.
Smart features
As a band, the Smart Band 10 handles the basics: call alerts with the option to reject calls or send a quick reply on Android 8.0 or later, notifications, calendar sync with Xiaomi and Redmi phones or with iOS 14.0 and later, alarms, timer, stopwatch, weather, world clock, flashlight, find-my-phone and camera control. The Smart Hub feature works only with Xiaomi phones or tablets running a recent version of HyperOS 2; it lets you control compatible earbuds, such as certain Xiaomi Buds and Redmi Buds models, adjust volume and noise reduction, find the phone with a ring and trigger the remote camera. The page also lists some mini-games and a compass. Music control and some other functions are supported on only some phone models, so a Xiaomi phone gives the most complete experience. The haptic motor is a linear motor with customisable vibration patterns.
Battery and charging
The band has a 233 mAh lithium-polymer battery with magnetic charging that takes about one hour. Xiaomi quotes up to 21 days in typical use, up to 9 days with the always-on display and up to 8 days in heavy-load mode, from its internal lab tests. The test conditions are spelled out: typical use means default settings, a static watch face, heart rate every 30 minutes, 100 messages and 10 call alerts per day and 200 screen wake-ups, with sleep breathing and all-day stress and blood oxygen monitoring turned off. If you switch on more monitoring, expect a shorter life than the headline number. Even the heavy-load figure of eight days is long by smartwatch standards, which is one of the main arguments for choosing a band over a watch.
Who it is for
The Smart Band 10 is aimed at people who want a lightweight tracker for steps, sleep and workouts at an accessible level, with the option to dress it up with straps. Swimmers get a useful feature set, cyclists can reuse the heart-rate broadcast, and owners of Xiaomi or Redmi phones gain the Smart Hub conveniences. It also suits anyone who dislikes charging a device every night. Alternatives with large screens and apps, such as the Apple Watch Series 10 or the Galaxy Watch8, usually cost far more and are charged far more often. Compromises
- Small screen and limited apps. It is a band, not a watch, so there is no app store and interaction is limited to Xiaomi's built-in features.
- No GPS listed. The page does not mention a satellite receiver, so independent outdoor route tracking is not stated.
- Not a medical device. Xiaomi stresses that health data is for wellbeing only.
- Strap limits. Several fashion straps must not get wet, and straps and extras are sold separately.
- Feature gaps by phone. Smart Hub needs a Xiaomi phone or tablet with HyperOS 2, and some functions depend on the phone model.
- Battery numbers come from Xiaomi's lab. Real-world life will be lower with more monitoring enabled.
Overall, the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 offers a larger, brighter screen than before, richer swimming and sleep tools and week-long endurance in a light package. It is a straightforward fitness band for people who value battery life and simplicity over apps and navigation.
