The realme Narzo 80 Pro is a 5G phone that realme positions around gaming and speed. It was launched in India on 9 April 2025 and combines a MediaTek Dimensity 7400, an OLED screen that the company rates at 4,500 nits peak brightness, a 6,000 mAh battery with 80W charging, a Sony camera with optical stabilisation and an IP69 rating, all in a 7.55 mm body. This page is based on the published specifications and the manufacturer's own product pages, and it explains who the phone is for, what stands out and where the compromises are.

Where the Pro sits in the Narzo family

Narzo is realme's performance-value line, sold mainly in India. The 80 series launched with two main members on the same day, and the Pro is the higher-tier and more powerful of the two. Its sibling, the realme Narzo 80x, keeps the 6,000 mAh battery but drops to a cheaper chip, a plainer display and 45W charging, so the Pro is the one to read about if raw speed and screen quality matter. Later in the line, the realme Narzo 90 carries the series forward. For context outside the Narzo range, realme's main number series is represented by the realme 15 and its performance flagship by the realme GT 7.

The phone's closest rivals are the other value-focused handsets with big batteries; our comparison of the realme Narzo 80 Pro and Galaxy A56 shows how it measures against a mainstream Samsung. We do not give a US price, as realme's pages describe an Indian launch and no US pricing.

Performance: the Dimensity 7400

The processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, an octa-core chip on a 4 nm process with a top clock of 2.6 GHz and a Mali-G615 graphics unit. realme claims that, compared with the Narzo 70 Pro, CPU performance is about 33% higher and graphics performance about 30% higher, figures taken from its own laboratory comparisons. It is the central pitch of the phone, and it makes sense: this is a chip designed for sustained, efficient mid-range performance, so it should handle demanding games at medium to high settings better than the budget chips in cheaper phones.

To keep it cool, realme fits what it calls a Cyclone VC system with a 6,050 mm² vapour chamber, and says its tests show CPU temperatures dropping by about 20 degrees Celsius against the previous generation. Gaming features come from the GT family: a GT Boost mode, 90 fps support in BGMI, an AI Ultra Touch Control feature and AI Motion Control, which lets gestures such as tilting trigger in-game actions. The panel samples touch at up to 2,500 Hz instantaneously, according to the spec sheet, with a maximum touch reporting rate of 240 Hz.

Memory comes as 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, and realme adds dynamic RAM of up to 14 GB on top of the 12 GB version, using storage space as extra memory. The company says a 256 GB model reads at about 2.05 GB/s and can keep more than 45 apps alive in the background. As with any virtual memory feature, treat the extra gigabytes as a convenience for multitasking, not as equal to physical RAM.

The screen

The display is an OLED panel of 17.20 cm (about 6.8 inches) with a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. realme lists 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 1.07 billion colours and a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. Typical brightness is 600 nits, rising to 800 nits via the settings slider, 1,400 nits in high-brightness mode and a 4,500-nit peak, which is a figure for tiny highlight areas and not for a full white screen. PWM dimming runs at 3,840 Hz, which should be friendlier to sensitive eyes than the low-frequency dimming of some OLEDs. The screen-to-body ratio is 93.7%, and the phone has a smart anti-mistouch feature for wet-hand use. An under-screen optical fingerprint sensor handles unlocking.

Design and durability

At 162.75 x 74.92 x 7.55 mm and about 179 g, the phone is notably slim and light for a 6,000 mAh model, and realme calls it the slimmest phone with the biggest battery in its class, a marketing comparison we cannot verify. The "Racing Speed" design has three colours: Speed Silver, Racing Green and Nitro Orange. The camera is housed in a circular module that can carry a coloured ring.

Durability is strong. The phone is tested to IP69, IP68 and IP66 under IEC 60529, and realme says it keeps working after 48 hours under 2 metres of water, which goes beyond the standard 30-minute test; the company's own footnote specifies the IP68 condition as 1.5 metres for 30 minutes, so treat the longer figure as a lab claim. Military-grade shock resistance is also advertised. Stereo dual speakers, Hi-Res Audio certification and dual-microphone noise cancellation complete the audio side.

Camera

The main camera is a 50 MP Sony IMX882 with a 1/1.95-inch sensor, an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation. A second rear camera is listed as monochrome, so there is no true ultra-wide lens and no telephoto; this is a one-main-lens phone. The front camera is 16 MP at f/2.4. Video goes up to 4K at 30 fps on the rear camera, with stabilised recording available in 4K, 1080p and 720p modes. The software adds portrait, night, pro, panorama, long exposure, cinematic and underwater modes, plus AI Snap Mode, which realme says captures at 1/19520 s to freeze fast movement.

The AI tools include Erase 2.0 (delivered by a later update), Motion Deblur, Best Face and eye-closure correction, with Circle to Search, AI Writer, AI Reply and AI Recording Summary on the software side. Expect good daylight results from the stabilised main sensor and limited flexibility when you need wide or zoomed shots.

Battery and charging

The battery is 6,000 mAh typical (5,860 mAh minimum) and charges at 80W through the adapter supplied in the box. realme says it goes from 1% to 50% in 21 minutes and that 10 minutes of charging supports about 3 hours of play. It also quotes 11.7 hours of BGMI, 18.6 hours of YouTube and 16.1 hours of Instagram from its own tests, and a four-year battery-health guarantee. Bypass charging is supported, a feature realme lists among its charging and cooling tools. Wireless charging is not mentioned.

Software and connectivity

The phone runs realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. Connectivity covers 5G with SA and NSA, dual nano SIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4 and single-band navigation systems. realme states plainly that there is no NFC, which matters for contactless payments in some markets.

Who it is for and the trade-offs

The Narzo 80 Pro is for mobile gamers and heavy users who want a bright OLED, a strong mid-range chip and a large, fast-charging battery in a slim body. It is also a good fit for people who want serious water resistance in a mid-priced phone. The trade-offs are Wi-Fi 5, no NFC, a single real rear lens, and software-based virtual RAM. Brightness, endurance and cooling claims come from realme's labs and will differ in daily use. If you do not need the speed, the cheaper Narzo 80x is the alternative, and the rankings and the Nothing Phone (3a) page offer other options to weigh.
