The realme GT 7 Pro is realme's 2024 flagship with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, built around a 6,500 mAh battery, 120W wired charging and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. It launched in China in November 2024 and reached global markets shortly afterwards. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information from realme's global product and specification pages, and it covers where the phone sits among its rivals, what the numbers mean in use, and the compromises that come with it.

Place in the lineup

realme's GT line is the brand's performance flagship series, and the GT 7 Pro was the top phone of the 2024 generation. It competes with the similarly equipped OnePlus and iQOO phones that also use the Snapdragon 8 Elite,. A closer rival is the OnePlus 13, which shares the chip and a very large battery; the realme GT 7 Pro vs. OnePlus 13 comparison puts the specifications side by side. For a camera-led alternative from another brand, see the vivo X200 Pro.

realme does not sell this phone through US carriers, so there is no US list price and the information here is for global versions. Memory options listed by realme are 12GB or 16GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage; the highest RAM listed is 16GB, and the company also advertises up to 28GB of dynamic RAM, which borrows part of the storage as swap space and is not additional physical memory. Colours are Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey.

Design and display

The phone is 162.45 mm tall, 76.89 mm wide and about 8.55 mm thick, and it weighs about 222.8 g. It has an aluminium frame, and the rear uses a large square camera module with a metal ring, and the orange version has a textured, wave-like pattern on the back. realme rates the phone IP68 and IP69, which means it should survive immersion and high-pressure water jets, and the company quotes operation down to minus 25 degrees Celsius. As with every maker, water resistance can fade with age.

The display is a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel that realme calls Eco2 OLED Plus and says it developed with Samsung Display. Resolution is 2780 x 1264 pixels (1.5K), the refresh rate goes up to 120Hz, and realme quotes 2,000 nits for high-brightness mode and 6,500 nits peak, together with a touch sampling rate of 2,600Hz and 120 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage. The global product page is unclear about the shape of the screen: its text describes it as flat in one place and lists a four-sided curved design in another, and the specification page lists a four-sided curved display. Treat the curved description as the more reliable one, and look at photos of the version you plan to buy if edge curvature matters to you, since it affects grip and accidental touches. An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor sits under the screen.

Performance and software

The Snapdragon 8 Elite is built on a 3nm process with Qualcomm's Oryon CPU cores that clock up to 4.32GHz, an Adreno 830 graphics unit and a Hexagon NPU. It is paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. realme claims an AnTuTu score above three million, which is a manufacturer figure from a synthetic benchmark, and the more useful point is that this is the same class of silicon used by the other top Android phones of that generation. The cooling system is called Iceberg Dual VC and has a quoted area of 11,480 square millimetres. The company says this keeps the phone stable under load, but it publishes no sustained-performance chart, so heat and throttling in long games should be judged by independent tests.

The phone ships with Android 15 and realme UI 6.0. realme UI has a long feature list, including AI tools for editing and screen features, and it can feel busy compared with cleaner skins; users who dislike pre-installed apps should check the setup process in their region. The company has not published an update commitment on its specification pages, so treat long-term support as unconfirmed and compare it with rivals that promise four or more years.

Camera system

The rear system is a Sony triple setup. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor of 1/1.56 inch with an f/1.8 aperture and optical stabilisation. The telephoto is a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope sensor with an f/2.65 aperture, a 73mm equivalent focal length and 3x optical zoom, also stabilised. The ultrawide is an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor with a 112 degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is a 16MP Sony sensor with f/2.45 and records 1080p video at 30 or 60 frames per second.

What this means: the periscope telephoto is the standout, since a 50MP stabilised sensor at 3x gives usable portrait distance and sharp crops, which is rare at this price tier. The 8MP ultrawide is the weak link; most rivals now use 50MP ultrawide cameras, so wide-angle shots will have less detail, especially in dim light. realme advertises an "AI Ultra-clear Snap" mode and a very fast maximum shutter speed for capturing movement, but these are processing features whose real-world results depend on software and lighting.

Battery and charging

The 6,500 mAh battery (typical, rated at 6,310 mAh) uses a silicon-carbon anode according to realme, with two cells of about 3,250 mAh. Charging is 120W SUPERVOOC over USB-C, and a 120W GaN charger is included in the box. realme claims about 14 minutes to reach 50 percent and about 37 minutes for a full charge; these are company test results under ideal conditions, and real results vary with temperature and use. The specifications do not list wireless charging, so if you rely on a wireless pad, this phone does not offer it. Together with the 6,500 mAh capacity, the fast wired charging is arguably the strongest practical reason to choose this phone.

Who it is for

The GT 7 Pro suits power users who want a top Android chip, a very large battery and fast charging, but are less concerned about the brand name or about the very best ultrawide camera. It also makes sense for people who take telephoto shots or portraits, and who like a phone that can survive water. Buyers who need long guaranteed updates, carrier support in the United States or wireless charging may prefer a different brand. If you want to see how it ranks against other devices, the phone rankings list many alternatives.

Compromises

Overall, the realme GT 7 Pro is a strong value proposition on paper: flagship-class silicon, a big battery, very fast charging and a good telephoto, held back by a modest ultrawide and a lack of wireless charging.
