The realme 14 Pro+ is the camera-first member of realme's 14 Pro family. Where its cheaper sibling concentrates on thinness and battery, the Pro+ adds a Sony periscope telephoto, a larger quad-curved OLED, a Snapdragon chip and 80W charging, while keeping the 6,000 mAh battery. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information; figures that come from realme's own labs are described as claims.
Where it fits
realme sells the 14 Pro series as two phones. The realme 14 Pro is the simpler one, with a MediaTek chip, a flatter feature list and 45W charging. The 14 Pro+ sits above it and borrows ideas from the brand's GT line, for example the eye-protection algorithm and the GT Mode gaming settings that realme says come from the GT 7 Pro. Newer phones from the company, such as the realme 15 Pro and the realme 16 Pro, have since moved the family forward, while a different branch of the range is represented by the realme 14T and the performance-oriented realme GT 7.
Outside the brand, the natural point of comparison is the upper-mid-range from Samsung, OPPO and Nothing. The comparison with the Galaxy A56 is a useful starting point, and the OPPO Reno 14 Pro is a close rival in the same price tier because it also chases a strong portrait camera.
Design: a colour-changing back and a four-sided curve
The most unusual thing about this phone is its rear panel. realme says the Pearl White version uses cold-sensitive fibres, so the back turns blue when the temperature falls below 16 degrees Celsius, with white and gold accents, and that the effect fades with use. Each unit is described as having its own texture, made with natural shell powder in a process co-designed with Valeur Designers. The company lists four colours on its pages: Pearl White, Suede Grey, Bikaner Purple and Emerald Drift, with an "Indian Exclusive" label appearing in the colour list on the India page. The back has a vegan-suede feel, and the camera sits in a round gold or silver ring, depending on the colour.
The front is equally distinctive. realme calls it a Bezel-less Quad Curve display: all four edges curve gently, with bezels of about 1.6 mm and a 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. The panel measures 6.83 inches at 2800 x 1272 pixels and refreshes at up to 120 Hz. The company quotes 600 nits typical, 1,200 nits global maximum and 1,500 nits local peak, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 100 percent DCI-P3, and 3840 Hz PWM dimming at low brightness. The touch sampling rate is listed as 240 Hz. A quad-curved front looks premium but can reflect more light at the edges, and curved glass is harder to protect with a case or screen film.
At 163.51 x 77.34 x 7.99 mm and 194 g (Pearl White), the phone is slim for the 6,000 mAh capacity; the grey model is slightly thicker and heavier at 8.29 mm and 196 g. Durability claims are strong for this segment: IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, realme's ArmorShell structure, and TUV Rheinland rugged-smartphone certification plus a military-grade shock test. realme also says the phone survives 48 hours under 2 metres of water in its own lab test, a figure that should not be treated as a warranty promise, since the company states that water damage is not covered.
Performance and software
The chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 on a 4 nm process, with an octa-core CPU up to 2.5 GHz and Adreno 810 graphics. realme quotes an AnTuTu score above 820,000 and cites GPU and CPU gains of 40 and 20 percent (attributed to Qualcomm's own data, without naming the comparison chip); these are manufacturer figures. Memory comes as 8GB or 12GB, with up to 14GB of extra "dynamic RAM" borrowed from storage, and storage options of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, depending on market. The advertised 12GB + 512GB combination is the top configuration, and availability of every version varies by country.
For gaming, realme claims 120 fps support in three major global titles and a 6,000 mm2 vapour-chamber cooling system with a graphite sheet. Software is realme UI 6.0, based on Android 15, with features such as Live Alerts, Flux themes, an AI eraser, Snap Mode with a shutter speed down to 1/10000 s, and Ultra Clarity 2.0 for sharpening blurry photos. The company does not state an update commitment on these product pages, so check that for your market.
Camera: the reason to choose the Pro+
The rear camera is where this model separates itself from the 14 Pro. The main sensor is a 50MP Sony IMX896 on a 1/1.56-inch format with f/1.8 and optical image stabilisation. Next to it is a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, a 73 mm equivalent focal length, f/2.65 and OIS. A third camera is an ultrawide; the international specification page lists 8MP with a 112 degree field of view and f/2.2. realme says the "triple-reflection tetraprism" structure makes the periscope 20 percent smaller in volume and 31 percent lighter than a conventional one, and that AI HyperRAW processing allows a maximum range of 120x.
Three LED lights around the main lens form what realme calls MagicGlow Triple Flash, with adjustable brightness and colour temperature for portraits. Other features include an underwater mode, a live photo mode and 4K video. The front camera is 32MP at f/2.0 with eye-tracking autofocus and 4K video. A 3x telephoto at 73 mm is a long, portrait-friendly focal length; it is not a substitute for 5x or 10x optical zoom, and results at 30x or 60x will depend on software processing.
For everyday use, the 32MP selfie camera is much higher in resolution than the one on the 14 Pro, and realme pairs it with eye-tracking autofocus and an AI beauty algorithm that the company lists among its portrait features.
Battery and charging
The battery is typically 6,000 mAh, rated at 5,860 mAh minimum, and the box includes an 80W SUPERVOOC charger. realme says it reaches 50 percent from 1 percent in 24 minutes and offers a four-year battery-health guarantee, with more than 80 percent capacity retention after four years under its own simulation. Its test results quote 10.8 hours of gaming, 17 hours of YouTube and 90.8 hours of music. No wireless charging is listed.
Who it is for
This is the right pick for someone who wants a long, portrait-oriented telephoto and a premium-looking, curved display without paying flagship prices, and who values a big battery with fast charging. It also suits buyers who like the tough build and IP69 rating. If you do not need the periscope or the 80W charger, the cheaper realme 14 Pro delivers the same battery capacity. The rankings page shows how it stacks up against other phones in its class.
Compromises to weigh
- Mid-range chip: the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is efficient but not a flagship processor.
- Curved edges are less practical with cases and screen films.
- The colour-changing back is temporary by realme's own description and varies from unit to unit.
- Ultrawide is basic at 8MP on the international specification.
- No wireless charging in the published specifications.
- Regional differences: colours, memory options and some figures vary between the India and international pages.
The realme 14 Pro+ is best understood as a telephoto-and-battery phone with unusual styling. Its strengths are the periscope camera, display and charging speed, while the processor and ultrawide camera keep it firmly in the upper mid-range.
