The motorola razr 60 is the more accessible of Motorola's two 2025 clamshell flip phones: a 6.9-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED main screen that opens to 120Hz, a 3.6-inch external display on the cover, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chip, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 4,500 mAh battery. It folds to a compact 88 mm tall block, carries an IP48 water-protection rating and ships with Android 15. This page is a specification-and-information review based on the published specifications and manufacturer information, mainly Motorola's India product page, so performance, camera and battery statements are Motorola's claims and not independent measurements. It covers the place in the lineup, design and displays, performance and software, cameras, battery, who it suits and the compromises.

Place in Motorola's lineup

Motorola's razr family has two tiers. The top model is the motorola razr ultra 2025, which Motorola positions above the razr 60, and the razr 60 is the value-oriented sibling that keeps the clamshell shape, the 3.6-inch cover screen and most of the software tricks while using a mid-range processor and a smaller battery. It also competes with other flip phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7. For a comparison of the two razrs, our razr 60 versus razr ultra 2025 page lists the published numbers side by side. If a flip phone is not essential, a slab phone such as the motorola edge 60 offers a bigger battery for a similar tier.

Design and durability

Open, the razr 60 measures 73.99 x 171.30 x 7.25 mm; closed it is 73.99 x 88.08 x 15.85 mm. It weighs 188 grams. The front of the cover display uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and the frame is made of high-strength aluminum. The back comes in different materials by colour: a nylon-inspired finish on PANTONE Gibraltar Sea, a leather-inspired finish on Spring Bud, an acetate back on Lightest Sky, and a fourth colour called Ice Melt, which the colour list ties to Swarovski and which the product images show with a quilted pattern. A titanium-reinforced hinge is the heart of the foldable mechanism, and Motorola says it is designed with a small gap to keep out dust and tested to last the life of the phone, a lifetime claim that is the company's own.

The water rating is IP48. That means protection against objects larger than one millimetre and against immersion in water, but nothing against dust ingress, so the phone is not dust-proof; treat it as resistance to splashes and brief immersion, not as an invitation to swim. Interface ports consist of one USB Type-C connector limited to USB 2.0 speed. There is no headphone jack.

The two displays

The main screen is a 6.9-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED with a 2640 x 1080 pixel resolution, about 413 ppi, a 22:9 aspect ratio, HDR10+ and 10-bit colour. The refresh rate adapts up to 120Hz, touch sampling is 220Hz (300Hz in game mode), and Motorola quotes 2,000 nits high-brightness mode and 3,000 nits peak. The cover screen is a 3.6-inch pOLED at 1056 x 1066 with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, 10-bit colour, 100 percent DCI-P3 and a 1,700 nit peak. Motorola calls it the largest external display of any flip phone, which is a claim about the category on its page and relates to its own comparison.

The cover display is what makes this form factor useful. Motorola lets it run apps with the phone shut, answer messages with a built-in keyboard, show navigation directions set on the main screen, give access to Spotify and Google Photos panels, and host customisable panels, animated characters and clock styles. It is also a viewfinder: because the outer screen sits right next to the main cameras, you can take selfies with the rear 50MP camera and check them without opening the phone.

Performance and software

The chip is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X with four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. Motorola says that it improves AI performance and multitasking over its predecessor's Dimensity 7300X. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The India page also describes a RAM Boost feature that borrows storage as virtual memory, with 4GB by default and up to 8GB maximum, and warns that this reduces the available user storage while in use; the physical RAM figure stays at 8GB. UFS 2.2 and LPDDR4X are not the fastest memory standards, which sets expectations for gaming and heavy multitasking.

The phone ships with Android 15, and Motorola promises three operating-system upgrades and four years of security patches. The software layer adds moto ai, a group of features that includes screenshot and note recall with natural-language queries, Google Gemini integration and various camera tools. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual SIM with a physical SIM plus an eSIM, and positioning with GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. The spec sheet also lists dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a side fingerprint reader plus face unlock.

Cameras

The rear camera set is a pair: a 50MP main camera with an f/1.79 aperture, optical image stabilisation, Quad Pixel binning to 12.6MP and all-pixel instant focus, plus a 13MP ultrawide that doubles as a macro camera with a 120-degree field of view. There is no telephoto lens; zoom beyond the main camera is digital. Motorola lists 4K at 30 frames per second on the rear cameras, slow motion at full HD 120 fps and HD 240 fps, and extras such as Ultra HDR, Auto Night Vision, Photo Booth, Auto Smile Capture, Dual Capture and video gestures. Motorola also describes the camera and display system as Pantone Validated for colour accuracy.

Inside, the selfie camera is a 32MP unit (the specification lists 32MP and 8MP quad-pixel modes), so video calls with the phone open use a dedicated sensor, while selfies taken from the cover use the main rear cameras. Using the rear cameras for selfies means the main 50MP sensor does the work, at the price of shooting with the phone folded. Results are processing dependent and cannot be judged from numbers alone.

Battery and charging

The battery is 4,500 mAh. Charging is 30W with TurboPower, with 15W wireless charging support; the India listing puts a 33W TurboPower charger in the box, but the maximum supported charging rate remains 30W. Motorola says that chargers above 30W do not increase the phone's maximum rate. A 4,500 mAh cell is a sensible size for a phone that has two screens to power, though its endurance will be shorter than that of slab phones with 5,000 mAh or more. Real-world endurance will depend on how often the external screen and the cameras are used.

Who it is for

The razr 60 is for people who want a pocketable phone that is small when closed and large when open, who like the cover screen for quick tasks, and who want fashion colours and tactile finishes. It is a sensible first flip phone, and suits users who value compactness more than top-end performance, cameras with a telephoto lens or a very large battery. It is less suited to heavy gamers, to people who shoot a lot with zoom, and to anyone who wants complete dust protection.

Compromises

In short, the motorola razr 60 offers the main flip-phone idea at a more modest level: a big screen that folds down, a genuinely useful cover display and pleasant materials. Check where it sits among other phones in our rankings.
