The motorola edge 70 fusion is a mid-range Android phone that Motorola lists on its Indian store with a release date of February 23, 2026. It pairs a 6.8-inch quad-curved Extreme AMOLED display that runs at up to 144 Hz and reaches a quoted 5,200 nits with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, a 7,000 mAh battery, a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera and an IP68 / IP69 rating, all in a 7.99 mm body weighing 193 g. It ships with Android 16 and Motorola promises three Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information; it covers where the phone sits in the Motorola range, the design and screen, performance and software, the cameras, the battery and the compromises you accept at this level. The manufacturer's product page used for this review is the Indian one, so the figures are those for the Indian market and no US price is given.
Place in the lineup
Motorola's edge family sits between the affordable moto g phones and the flagship razr foldables. The edge 70 range on the Indian store runs from this fusion model up through the edge 70 pro, edge 70 pro plus and edge 70 max, and the fusion is the entry point, aimed at buyers who want a premium-looking curved screen and a big battery without flagship money. In the Motorola family the foldable Motorola razr ultra 2025 is a completely different proposition, with a flexible display and a top-tier processor. Among rivals at a similar level, the Samsung Galaxy A57, the Google Pixel 10a and the Nothing Phone (3a) are the obvious comparisons, and the edge 70 fusion vs Galaxy A57 page lines up the published numbers. Motorola lists several colour options under the Pantone banner: Silhouette, Country Air, Blue Surf and Orient Blue.
Design and display
The phone measures 162.76 x 75.60 x 7.99 mm and weighs 193 g. That is slim for a phone with a 7,000 mAh battery. The front is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, the frame is plastic, and the rear has a nylon-inspired or linen-inspired textured finish; Motorola's own data does not say which colour gets which finish, so this page does not either. Water and dust protection is rated IP68 and IP69, and the phone has been tested to the MIL-STD-810H standard. The ratings describe laboratory conditions: water resistance is not permanent, and Motorola's footnotes caution that the phone is not meant to be charged wet.
The screen is a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with a Super HD resolution of 2772 x 1272 (450 ppi), a 96.2 percent screen-to-body ratio and curved edges on all four sides, which Motorola calls a quad-curved display. The refresh rate goes up to 144 Hz, touch sampling up to 1500 Hz, and the panel supports HDR10+, 100 percent DCI-P3, 10-bit colour and a peak brightness of 5,200 nits. Motorola also lists Pantone Validated Color and Pantone SkinTone Validated certification, SGS Blue Light and Motion Blur certification, and a Water Touch mode that is meant to keep touch input working with wet fingers. As ever, peak brightness is a short-lived figure under special conditions, and typical full-screen brightness will be considerably lower.
Performance and software
The chip is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Motorola's page lists 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of storage, depending on the variant, and a RAM Boost function that uses storage to help keep apps in memory. The Indian store lists the 8 GB / 128 GB model at 30,999 rupees. The 7s Gen 4 is a mid-range chip, so expect smooth everyday use, social media, photography and casual gaming; it is not designed to match the flagship Snapdragon parts in sustained heavy 3D loads, and Motorola does not publish benchmark numbers. Connectivity covers 5G (sub-6), 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E with a tri-band 2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz setup, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS with several satellite systems and dual nano-SIM. The phone has an on-screen fingerprint reader, face unlock and the ThinkShield security suite, and the only port is a USB Type-C connector at USB 2.0 speed.
The phone ships with Android 16, and Motorola guarantees three Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches. Its moto ai features include Pay Attention, which records, transcribes and summarises conversations, tools for tagging and organising screenshots, notes and photos, Google Gemini voice control, Circle to Search, and Google Photos editing tools such as Magic Eraser and Camouflage. Availability of the AI features depends on language, region and account, as Motorola's footnotes point out. Audio comes from dual stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, but the phone has no headphone jack and no FM radio.
Cameras
The main camera is a 50 MP sensor, the Sony LYTIA 710, with an f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilisation, all-pixel focus and 1.0 micron pixels that combine to 2.0 microns in Ultra Pixel mode. It is joined by a 13 MP ultrawide camera with a 120 degree field of view and Macro Vision, which Motorola says brings subjects four times closer, plus a dedicated 3-in-1 light sensor that helps with exposure and colour. There is no telephoto lens in the spec list, so zoom beyond the main sensor relies on cropping and processing. The front camera is a 32 MP unit with f/2.2 and Quad Pixel binning to 1.4 microns, and Motorola advertises 4K video from it.
The rear camera records 4K UHD video at 30 fps and Full HD at 30 or 60 fps, with slow motion at Full HD 120 fps. The software side leans on moto ai: an AI Photo Enhancement Engine that adjusts colour, brightness, texture and noise across all lenses, a Signature Style feature that learns your colour preferences from photos you like, and a Portrait mode with dynamic bokeh and multiple focal lengths. Motorola also stresses that colours are Pantone Validated, with accurate skin tones. These descriptions are manufacturer claims; without independent testing the real-world quality of the processing cannot be judged.
Battery and charging
The battery has a typical capacity of 7,000 mAh, with a rated capacity of 6,790 mAh; Motorola explains that the typical value is the average of a batch of cells, while the rated value is the guaranteed minimum. The company quotes up to 52 hours of battery life, a figure obtained under its own test conditions. Charging is 68 W with Motorola's TurboPower wired technology, and a 68 W charger and a USB Type-C to Type-C cable are included in the box. There is no wireless charging. The capacity is notably high for a phone this thin, and it is one of the main reasons to pick the model over its rivals.
Who it is for
The edge 70 fusion suits people who want a large, bright, curved screen, a long-lasting battery and a clean-looking design at a mid-range price, and who value water resistance and a promise of several years of updates. It is a good option for heavy streaming, navigation and day-to-day photography. It is less suitable if you need wireless charging, a dedicated telephoto camera or the fastest possible gaming performance, or if you want to buy it outside India, where the availability and pricing are not documented in the sources used here.
Compromises
- Plastic frame. The frame is plastic rather than metal, which is a common cost trade-off but affects the premium feel.
- No wireless charging. Charging is wired only, at 68 W.
- No telephoto camera. The rear system is a 50 MP main and a 13 MP ultrawide with macro.
- USB 2.0 and no headphone jack. Wired data transfer is slow, and audio needs Bluetooth or an adapter.
- Mid-range chip. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 handles everyday tasks, but is not a flagship processor.
- Market information. The specifications come from Motorola's Indian page; availability, variants and prices elsewhere may differ.
- Manufacturer claims. Battery life, brightness and AI features are Motorola's own statements and depend on conditions and region.
