The Moto G24 Power is a budget Motorola phone built around endurance. Its headline numbers are a 6000 mAh battery, a 6.56-inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, a 50MP main camera and Android 14. Motorola's India page markets it under the line "Dikhe mast, chale zabardast", roughly "looks great, runs strong". The official pages reviewed do not state a global on-sale date or a US price, so this page gives neither; availability and configurations vary by market. It is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information, with Motorola's own statements marked as claims.

Where it sits in the lineup

The Moto G series is Motorola's affordable range, and the "Power" label signals the battery focus: the G24 Power sits at the budget end of the family and puts capacity ahead of slimness. For a step up, the Moto G35 and the Moto G85 are described on their own pages, and the Moto G24 Power vs Moto G35 table shows how the two differ. A thinner competitor with a high-resolution main camera is the HONOR X8b.

Design and build

The phone measures 163.49 x 74.53 x 8.99 mm and weighs 197 g. That is thick and heavy compared with slim mid-range phones, which is the price of a 6000 mAh cell. Motorola describes the design as slim and lightweight with streamlined camera housing and an elegant matte finish, in two colors: Glacier Blue and Ink Blue. The body has a water-repellent design, which the company explains as a barrier against moderate exposure such as spills, splashes or light rain; it is explicitly not waterproof, must not be submerged, and the effect may diminish over time. There is a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and the phone can also be unlocked with the camera.

Unusually for a current phone, it keeps a 3.5mm headset jack and an FM radio, and it has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The charging and data port is USB Type-C at USB 2.0 speed. Sensors listed include an accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensors, a sensor hub, a fingerprint reader, an e-compass, a SAR sensor and a gyroscope.

Display

The screen is 6.56 inches (16.66 cm) with a punch-hole front camera, and Motorola calls it an HD+ panel. The refresh rate is 90Hz; Motorola's footnote explains that in Auto mode the device runs between 60Hz and 90Hz, and that the actual refresh rate may be lower depending on the app, the settings and other factors. Peak brightness is quoted at up to 537 nits through High Brightness mode, which should help in daylight but is modest compared with more expensive phones. The pixel dimensions are not given in the official text reviewed, so we do not state them. In practice an HD+ panel at this size is adequate for video and social media but less crisp for reading small text than a full-HD screen.

Performance, memory and software

The processor is the MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core chip with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.7GHz, plus an Arm Mali-G52 MP2 GPU at 1000MHz. It is an older, entry-level design suited to messaging, browsing, video and light games rather than demanding titles. The phone comes with 4GB or 8GB of physical RAM, and built-in storage of 128GB or 256GB depending on the market (the India listing shows 128GB versions). The RAM Boost feature uses storage as virtual memory: Motorola says the 4GB model can add up to 4GB (2GB by default) and the 8GB model up to 8GB (4GB by default), and that using it reduces available storage. Treat the physical 8GB as the true maximum. A microSD slot supports cards up to 1TB, and the SIM tray is a 3-in-1 design that holds two Nano SIMs plus a microSD card at the same time.

The software is Android 14 with Motorola's gestures, such as quick capture, fast flashlight, a three-finger screenshot and ambient display. Motorola's pages reviewed do not describe an update commitment, so the length of software support is not confirmed here.

Camera

The rear camera is a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8) using Quad Pixel technology, which combines four pixels into one for better low-light sensitivity; Motorola states that the effective photo resolution is 12.5MP. Next to it sits a 2MP macro camera (f/2.4) for close-ups. There is no ultrawide lens listed. The front camera is 16MP (f/2.45). Software features include automatic night shots, portrait background blur, face retouch for selfies and an HDR mode that combines three exposures. Video capture is FHD at 30fps on the main camera and HD at 30fps on the macro camera.

Battery and charging

The 6000mAh battery is the reason to choose this phone. Motorola says it lets you listen to playlists longer, video-chat for hours and watch many episodes, but it does not publish a hours-per-charge figure, and all of its battery claims are based on median usage under optimal network conditions. Charging is up to 30W with Motorola TurboPower, and the TurboPower 33 charger is included in many markets (the India listing shows a charger in the box), while it is sold separately in some others, such as France and the Nordic countries. A higher-wattage charger will not raise the maximum. Wireless charging is not listed.

Connectivity

The listed network support is 4G LTE (bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40 and 41), 3G and 2G; the specifications reviewed do not list 5G. Wi-Fi is 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac at 2.4GHz and 5GHz with hotspot, Bluetooth is 5.0, and location comes from GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and related services.

Audio and everyday use

Motorola promotes the speaker setup as an entertainment feature: stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, which the company says give greater depth and clarity at higher volumes. Combined with the large cell, the 90Hz screen and the headphone jack, the phone is clearly tuned for streaming, podcasts and long video calls rather than for photography or gaming. The phone has a single microphone listed in the specifications, and the box contains the USB Type-C cable, guides, a SIM tool and the charger, according to the India listing; contents differ by market. Taken together, these details describe a phone that is simple to live with, even if it does not chase headline specifications.

Who it is for

The G24 Power suits people who value battery life above all: commuters, heavy video watchers, field workers, travelers and anyone who often forgets to charge. It is also a reasonable first phone or a backup device, and it keeps conveniences that are disappearing, namely a headphone jack, FM radio and a microSD slot.
