The vivo X200 FE is a compact flagship-style phone built around a 6.31-inch flat LTPO AMOLED screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, a ZEISS-branded camera system with a 50 MP periscope telephoto and a 6,500 mAh battery with 90W charging, all in a body that weighs 186 g. vivo's Pakistan newsroom dated its announcement 14 July 2025 and called the phone the first compact telephoto flagship in the X series. That date is used here because vivo's product pages consulted do not state an on-sale date; in Pakistan, pre-orders were listed from 15 July and sales from 22 July. This review is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information, and battery, display and camera performance figures that come from vivo's own laboratory are treated as claims, not independent measurements.

Where it fits in the lineup

The FE designation marks a smaller, more accessible version of the X series. It sits below the larger vivo X200 Pro, whose page vivo uses as the baseline for some of its comparisons, and it was followed later by the vivo X300 FE and the vivo X300. For a look at what changed in the next compact model, the X200 FE vs X300 FE comparison sets out the main figures. The Philippines specification page lists a 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage configuration in Black and Blue, while the overview page also shows Yellow Glow and Pink Vibe colours, so colour availability depends on the market. vivo's Pakistan release priced the 512 GB model at 219,999 Pakistani rupees; no US price is stated on the official pages used, so none is listed.

Design and build

The phone measures 150.83 x 71.76 x 7.99 mm and weighs 186 g, which is unusually small and light for a flagship-class phone with a large battery. vivo stresses a slim, ergonomic, one-handed design, with the camera island occupying only about 9 percent of the back surface according to the Pakistan release. The frame is described as aerospace-grade aluminium, the back cover is glass, and the display is covered by what vivo calls reinforced Gorilla Shield glass with military-grade drop certifications and SGS Triple Protection. The phone has IP68 and IP69 ratings under the IEC 60529 standard, with IP69 tested against hot water jets at 80 degrees Celsius; vivo cautions that this resistance is not permanent and that the phone is not a professional waterproof device. The in-display optical fingerprint sensor, a linear motor and dual stereo speakers complete the hardware.

Display

The 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED panel has a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels (460 ppi), a P3 wide colour gamut and an adaptive refresh rate of 120, 90, 72 and 60 Hz. vivo quotes 5,000 nits of local peak brightness and 1,800 nits in high-brightness mode, along with 2,160 Hz PWM dimming for reduced flicker and Netflix HDR support. The ZEISS Master Color Display label refers to the physical panel components, and vivo states that it does not include the eye-protection software features. In a small-phone category where many rivals have been dropped, a flat, high-resolution panel of this size is a notable strength, and vivo also lists SGS low-blue-light certification in its launch materials. The Philippines page lists a 6.31-inch measurement taken on the full rectangle, so the visible area is slightly smaller.

Performance and software

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ is built on a 4 nm process and uses a 4+4 all-big-core CPU layout with a top clock of 3.4 GHz. The memory is LPDDR5X and the storage is UFS 3.1. The Philippines page shows 12 GB RAM with 512 GB storage, and a RAM expansion feature of up to 16 GB, although there is no storage expansion. The chip is a previous-generation flagship part, and the UFS 3.1 storage is a step below the latest standard, but it remains capable of demanding games and multitasking. vivo says the 4+4 design was developed with MediaTek for performance, thermal control and efficiency.

The phone runs Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 on the Philippines page. vivo highlights an AI feature set that includes Google Gemini, Circle to Search, AI Screen Translation, a Smart Call Assistant for real-time call translation and summaries, AI Captions and vivo DocMaster for opening and converting PDF, Word, PowerPoint and Xmind files. Availability of several AI features varies by country or region, and vivo notes that some, such as the AI Image Studio tools, may behave differently depending on the software version. The company does not state an update policy on the pages consulted.

Camera

The camera system is the reason for the phone's existence. The rear main camera is a 50 MP Sony IMX921 sensor behind an f/1.88 lens with optical stabilisation. The telephoto is a 50 MP Sony IMX882 sensor with a 1/2-inch format and an f/2.65 aperture, using a trapezoidal-prism periscope with an M-shaped optical path that vivo says is more compact than a conventional L-shaped design. The third camera is an 8 MP ultra-wide with an f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is a 50 MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture. In its Pakistan release vivo describes the telephoto as supporting zoom of up to 100x using ZEISS optics and AI, which should be understood as a combination of optical and digital zoom rather than optical reach alone.

vivo adds ZEISS multifocal portrait modes at 23, 35, 50, 85 and 100 mm equivalents, seven classic bokeh styles, a Stage Mode for concerts, a Night Mode that uses the larger sensor, a Street Photography Mode and vintage film styles. The AI Image Studio provides AI Magic Move, AI Image Expander and AI Reflection Erase, and the phone can save Live Photos in a format compatible with iPhone Live Photos. As a compact phone with a real telephoto, the X200 FE stands out, although the ultra-wide is only 8 MP.

Battery and charging

The battery is a 6,500 mAh unit of vivo's BlueVolt silicon-anode type, with a rated capacity of 6,340 mAh and 24.9 Wh typical energy, and it is large for a phone of this size. vivo cites an energy density of 845 Wh/L, low-temperature operation down to minus 20 degrees Celsius and about 2 percent higher overall density from its C-FPACK packaging. Charging is 90W FlashCharge using the standard charger, which the Philippines box contents list as included. vivo says ten minutes of charging gives up to three hours of video streaming, and its test results include 25.44 hours of YouTube playback, 9.55 hours of gaming and, in the Pakistan release, 44.9 hours of voice calls. As these are laboratory results under controlled conditions, real use will differ.

Connectivity

The phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 listings, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC with multiple scenarios, an infrared blaster and satellite positioning across GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC. It takes two nano-SIM cards in dual-standby mode, and eSIM availability depends on the country. The USB port is USB 2.0, and vivo promotes a 360-degree antenna design for more stable reception.

Who it is for

The X200 FE is for people who want a flagship-style experience, including a true periscope telephoto, in a phone small enough to use with one hand, and who do not want to give up battery life. Photography fans who value portrait and zoom shooting will get the most from it.
