The REDMAGIC 10S Pro is a gaming phone from REDMAGIC, the gaming phone brand listed here under ZTE. It was revealed in early June 2025 as the top model of the 10 series and is built around the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, a 6.85-inch 144 Hz display, a 7,050 mAh battery with 80W charging and an active cooling system with a built-in fan. It keeps hardware that most phones have dropped, including 520 Hz shoulder triggers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information from REDMAGIC's global store and blog. The sections below explain where the phone sits in the range, what it offers and what you have to accept in return for the gaming hardware.

Where it sits in the lineup

The 10S Pro is a refresh of the REDMAGIC 10 Pro. REDMAGIC's reveal post places it after the 10 Pro and the more affordable 10 Air, and the "S" signals a mid-cycle update with a faster chip, now called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, and a new gaming chip, the RedCore R3 Pro. The store lists it as out of stock and points buyers to newer models, namely the REDMAGIC 11S Pro, the 11 Air and the REDMAGIC 11 Pro, so it is now a model of the previous generation. You can see how it compares with its successor in the REDMAGIC 10S Pro versus REDMAGIC 11 Pro comparison. Other gaming phones to consider are the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro.

Design and display

The phone measures 163.42 by 76.14 by 8.9 millimetres and weighs 229 grams, which makes it heavy and thick by normal phone standards. It uses a metal mid-frame and a glass back, and it comes in three colours: Matte Black Nightfall, Transparent Silver Moonlight and Transparent Black Dusk. The two transparent versions use a see-through-style back, a look that has become a REDMAGIC trademark. An RGB light on the back is fully customisable.

The display is a 6.853-inch AMOLED panel from BOE with a resolution of 2688 by 1216 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It refreshes at up to 144 Hz, and REDMAGIC lists a touch sampling rate of up to 2,500 Hz, with 960 Hz in multi-finger use. Maximum brightness is quoted at 2,000 nits, colour coverage is 100 percent DCI-P3 and the colour accuracy is stated as a Delta E below 1. The cover is Corning Gorilla Glass. REDMAGIC describes it as a full screen. These are manufacturer figures. The resolution is listed as FHD+ rather than QHD, which keeps the graphics workload and battery drain down.

Performance and cooling

The phone runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, with the Oryon CPU cores clocked up to 4.47 GHz, together with an Adreno GPU and REDMAGIC's RedCore R3 Pro, a separate gaming chip that sits alongside the main processor. Memory is LPDDR5T and storage is UFS 4.1 Pro, in combinations of 12 GB with 256 GB, 16 GB with 512 GB, and 24 GB with 1 TB. The 24 GB figure is the physical RAM, which is far more than almost any phone needs, but it fits the brand's focus on keeping many apps and games ready in memory.

The memory options are tied to the colours. The Matte Black Nightfall version is sold as 12 GB with 256 GB, while the two transparent versions, Moonlight and Dusk, come as 16 GB with 512 GB or 24 GB with 1 TB. If you want the base configuration you therefore get the black phone, and if you prefer a transparent finish you start at the larger memory tier, which also changes the price. No memory-card slot is listed, so the 256 GB model is the one to think twice about if you plan to install many large games.

Cooling is the main reason to choose a REDMAGIC. The ICE-X system combines under-screen copper foil and graphene, a 12,000 square millimetre vapour chamber, an aluminium-alloy mid-frame, liquid-metal thermal compound, a high-conductivity gel and copper foil on the motherboard, plus a turbocharged fan that REDMAGIC says spins at up to 23,000 revolutions per minute through an aerospace aluminium air duct. The fan is audible under load, which is the price of sustained performance, and phones without a fan may throttle sooner in long sessions. Independent testing would be needed to quantify the gap; here we only report the manufacturer's description.

The software is REDMAGIC OS 10.5 based on Android 15, with Game Space as the central gaming hub, Google Gemini integration and a customisable Magic Key that opens Game Space by default and can be set to other functions. REDMAGIC's store states five years of software support for customers in the European Union and the United Kingdom and three years elsewhere, which is the company's general policy rather than a figure specific to this model.

Controls and connectivity

The shoulder triggers are capacitive touchpads with a 520 Hz sampling rate, designed to act as extra buttons in games. The phone supports 5G in both standalone and non-standalone modes with a wide list of bands, Wi-Fi 802.11ax across 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-frequency GPS, NFC and dual nano-SIM. The USB-C port is USB 3.2 Gen 2 with DisplayPort output, and a 3.5 mm audio jack is included. Dual speakers and a linear motor round off the gaming-oriented hardware.

Camera

The rear camera system uses a 50-megapixel main sensor, the OV50E40 with a 1/1.55-inch size, an f/1.88 lens and optical image stabilisation, with a second 50-megapixel sensor at f/2.0 and a 2-megapixel third camera. The front camera is a 16-megapixel OV16EQ. REDMAGIC states that the 10S Pro has an upgraded front camera for sharper selfies and an anti-glare coating on the rear lens. The configuration is typical for a gaming phone: good enough for everyday photos in good light, but behind camera-focused flagships when it comes to zoom or low-light reach. There is no dedicated telephoto lens.

Battery and charging

The battery is a 7,050 mAh dual-cell unit with 80W fast charging, which is large even among gaming phones. A power adapter and a USB-C cable are included in the box, together with a clear case. Real battery life will depend heavily on how often you play at 144 Hz with the fan running, but the capacity gives plenty of headroom for long sessions. REDMAGIC's description does not mention wireless charging, so it should not be assumed.

Who it is for

The 10S Pro is for gamers who value sustained performance, physical-feeling shoulder controls, a headphone jack and a large battery more than a slim body or a top camera. It also suits people who like the transparent, mechanical look.

Compromises to consider

The phone is heavy and thick, the camera system is average for a flagship-class device, and the fan adds noise during demanding games. The global store lists prices of 609 US dollars for the 12 GB model with 256 GB and 959 dollars for the 24 GB model with 1 TB, but the product is shown as out of stock, shipping regions listed in the store's FAQ do not include the United States, and tax is not included in the price, so a US price is not quoted on this page. A newer generation is also available. For a wider perspective, take a look at the rankings page.
