The realme P3 5G is a performance-minded phone from realme's P series, and the company's own page makes no secret about what it is for: gaming at a sensible price. It combines a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 6,000 mAh battery with 45W charging, a vapour-chamber cooling plate and an unusually strong IP69 water-resistance rating. Everything is built around the idea that a mid-priced phone can stay fast, cool and cold-proof through long sessions. This page works from the specifications and statements on realme's India website and does not claim hands-on testing. Where numbers come from realme's own laboratory, they are labelled as claims.

Where it sits in the realme range

The P series is realme's performance line for value-minded buyers, with the Pro, Ultra and later-generation models stepping up in screen, processor and charging. If you want to see what a higher tier looks like, the realme P3 Ultra and the newer realme P4 Pro are the obvious next steps, and the more general realme 15 belongs to the numbered line. The P3 5G is the straightforward one: single big battery, single main camera and a spec sheet that is easy to read. The India page we used does not state an on-sale date or a price in dollars, so the release date shown on this site is an approximation and no US price is listed. The listing is also an India page, so options and software versions may differ by country.

Design and display

The design theme is "Space", with textured lines on the back and a Flaming Orange power button that adds an accent colour. Three finishes are named on the specification page: Space Silver, Comet Grey and Nebula Pink. The phone measures 163.15 x 75.65 mm, is about 7.97 mm thick and weighs about 194 g, figures realme says come from its own lab, so some tolerance applies. For a phone with a 6,000 mAh cell that is quite slim and light, which is one of the more impressive claims on the page. Realme also quotes a screen-to-body ratio of 92.65 percent.

The display is a 6.67-inch AMOLED with a 1080 x 2400 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Brightness is given as 600 nits typical and 2,000 nits peak, with a contrast ratio of 6,000,000:1 and 16.7 million colours. The touch sampling rate is 180Hz in general and up to 1,500Hz as an "instant" rate meant for games, which is where the "Esports Display" label comes from. A 2,000-nit peak is a strong number for this class, although peak values apply only to small bright areas and for limited periods, so the typical 600 nits is the more realistic everyday figure. An in-display optical fingerprint sensor is listed, as are dual stereo speakers.

Performance, cooling and software

The processor is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, a 4nm octa-core chip with a top speed of 2.3GHz and an Adreno graphics unit. Realme describes it as the first phone in India to use this chipset and quotes its own lab figures: an AnTuTu score of over 750,000, against 482,000 for a competitor phone it names, along with 35 percent faster graphics and 15 percent faster CPU performance versus the previous generation, citing Qualcomm. These are manufacturer claims and the test conditions are not public. The practical message is that the chip sits in the upper part of the mid-range and should handle popular games at medium to high settings.

The cooling system is the more distinctive part. Realme advertises an "AeroSpace" vapour chamber of 6,050 square millimetres and shows a "20°C" CPU temperature figure from its own lab test, without publishing the test conditions in detail. The phone also has a bypass charging mode that feeds power straight to the system while gaming so the battery is not constantly cycled. A feature called GT Boost, which realme says is the same technology as on the P3 Pro, uses AI to raise performance at game launch. The page highlights 90 frames per second in BGMI, with a footnote that 90 fps support will arrive in a future game update from the developer, so check the game version before counting on it.

Memory options listed are 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage, and "up to 8GB plus 10GB dynamic RAM" for virtual extension. The headline page speaks of "18GB RAM", but a footnote explains this is 8GB physical plus 10GB expansion, so the physical figure to compare is 8GB. The software is realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15, with AI tools such as Circle to Search, an AI recording summary and the "AI Smart Loop 2.0" feature. The phone has dual nano SIM slots, one of which can alternatively hold a memory card, which is increasingly rare. Connectivity covers 5G dual mode, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and the usual satellite navigation systems, and the listing names no NFC, so check your regional version if you rely on tap-to-pay.

Camera

Photography is clearly not the headline here. The only rear camera on the specification page is a 50-megapixel unit with an f/1.8 aperture, a 27 mm equivalent focal length and a 76-degree field of view. There is no ultra-wide or telephoto camera listed. The front camera is a 16-megapixel unit with an f/2.4 aperture and an 85-degree view. Realme promotes an "AI Shutter" called Snap Mode that reaches a shutter speed of 1/10,000 second to freeze motion, plus a Clear Face feature for portraits. Video goes to 4K at 30 fps on the rear camera, with 1080p at 60 fps and slow motion at up to 1080p 120 fps or 720p 240 fps; the selfie camera records 1080p at 30 fps. The phone is also rated for taking photos underwater thanks to the IP69 build, which realme lists as an underwater mode.

With one main lens, flexibility is limited: you cannot switch to a wider frame for architecture or group shots, and zoom is digital. Image quality in low light is not described beyond general marketing, so treat the camera as capable but basic.

Battery, charging and durability

The battery is a 6,000 mAh "Titan Battery" with a stated minimum of 5,860 mAh, which realme says offers an energy density of 782 Wh/L. Charging is 45W over USB-C with a 45W charger included in the box. Realme's lab figures claim 8.5 hours of BGMI, 17.5 hours of YouTube, 16.5 hours of Instagram and 91.5 hours of Spotify on a single charge, none of which are independent results, and they are best read as a ranking among realme's own phones rather than a promise. The phone is tested to IP69, IP68 and IP66 under the IEC 60529 standard, and realme describes 2.5 metres for 30 minutes for the IP68 test. The company adds that water resistance is not permanent and that water damage is not covered by the warranty.

Who should buy it, and the trade-offs

The P3 5G suits students and gamers who want a large battery, a bright 120Hz AMOLED, good cooling and strong water protection without paying flagship money. It is also a good choice for people who commute or work outdoors thanks to the IP69 rating and battery capacity. Those who care most about camera versatility, wireless charging or a long list of premium extras should look higher up the range.
