The OPPO Watch X2 Mini is a compact smartwatch that OPPO announced on 25 June 2025, with sales starting in Singapore on 27 June 2025. OPPO describes it as its most compact smartwatch to date, a smaller companion to the larger Watch X2. It has a 1.32-inch round AMOLED display and runs Wear OS by Google, and it pairs a Snapdragon chip with a second low-power processor so that it can run a long-lasting Power Saver Mode as well as a full smart mode. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information. It covers the watch's place in the market, its design and display, hardware and software, health and sports features, battery life, who it suits, and where it falls short.

Place in the lineup

The Watch X2 Mini is the small-case version in OPPO's X2 family. The larger Watch X2 has a 1.50-inch display and a bigger battery with a longer stated runtime, so the Mini is aimed at people with smaller wrists or those who find big watches uncomfortable, rather than at buyers who want maximum battery. Among the Wear OS rivals, the closest comparisons are Samsung's Galaxy Watch8 and Google's Pixel Watch 3. A direct numbers view is on the OPPO Watch X2 Mini vs Galaxy Watch8 page, and the rankings show how the watch sits against the wider smartwatch field.

In Singapore, OPPO listed the Nebula Black version at S$399 and the Glimmer Gold version at S$449. We found no official US price on the pages reviewed, so none is given here, and prices elsewhere may differ.

Design and display

The case measures about 43.2 x 43.2 x 11 mm excluding the heart-rate sensor bump, and the watch weighs about 37.8 g without a strap. With the strap, OPPO lists about 47 g for the Glimmer Gold model and about 59 g for Nebula Black, the difference coming from the strap type. Two finishes are offered. Glimmer Gold has an 18K PVD gold-plated stainless steel case and crown with a leather strap that fits wrists from 130 to 200 mm. Nebula Black has a 316L stainless steel case with a fluoroelastomer strap that fits 130 to 210 mm. The bottom case is plastic (PA) with a two-colour injection-moulded finish, which keeps weight down and is common on smartwatches.

The display is a 1.32-inch AMOLED panel with 466 x 466 pixels, a density of 352 ppi and 2.5D cover glass. OPPO lists a default maximum brightness of 600 nits and a high-brightness mode of 1,000 nits. These are good figures for outdoor use for a watch of this size. The panel is not stated as LTPO, so there is no claim of a variable refresh rate here. As the case is circular, round watch faces look natural, and OPPO says the watch offers more than 100 original watch faces as well as faces from Google Play.

Hardware and software

The watch uses a dual-chip design: a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 wearable platform plus a BES2800BP microcontroller. The Snapdragon chip runs Wear OS by Google in Smart Mode, which provides the app ecosystem, and the low-power microcontroller runs a real-time operating system (RTOS) in Power Saver Mode, which restricts functions in return for longer battery life. The memory is 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, with an additional 4GB of eMMC reserved for the RTOS. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5GHz), NFC, Bluetooth calling and GNSS covering GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS and QZSS.

Wear OS brings Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Wallet and the Play Store. A significant limitation is compatibility: OPPO states that the watch works only with Android 9.0 or later phones that have Google Mobile Services at version 23.45.23 or higher, and that iOS devices and Android (Go edition) phones are not supported. If you carry an iPhone, this is not the watch for you. OPPO's own health app support is described with Google Health Connect and Strava integration, and some health insights are limited in Europe and North America.

Health and sports

For health tracking, OPPO lists all-day heart-rate monitoring with high and low alerts, all-day blood-oxygen tracking with low-SpO2 alerts, a respiratory-rate reading, sleep tracking with stages and a quality score, a snoring-risk assessment, a cycle tracker, and fall detection with emergency SOS. The company also offers a Mind and Body evaluation that draws on heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and activity levels. The sensor set includes an optical heart-rate sensor, a blood-oxygen sensor, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, a light sensor and a barometer. These are manufacturer descriptions, and the accuracy of wrist-based health sensors varies; none of these features is a medical diagnosis, and OPPO's own materials treat them as wellness indicators.

For sports, the watch offers more than 100 sports modes and six types of automatic recognition: running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing machine and elliptical machine. Professional modes include skiing, tennis, badminton, swimming, rope skipping, hiking, cycling and others, with sport-specific metrics such as swing speed in racket sports and strokes in swimming. With 5ATM and IP68 ratings, the watch can be used in a pool for swimming, though 5ATM is not a rating for deep dives.

Battery and charging

The battery is 354 mAh typical (345 mAh rated). OPPO states a runtime of up to 60 hours in Smart Mode for standard use, up to 36 hours with heavy use in Smart Mode, and up to 7 days in Power Saver Mode. Those are manufacturer figures, and the real result depends on the always-on display, GPS use, cellular-free Bluetooth connection and notification load. Compared with watches that last two weeks or more, 60 hours is modest, but it is typical for a Wear OS watch with a full feature set, and the Power Saver Mode is a useful fallback for trips.

Charging uses a dock and OPPO's VOOC watch fast charging: ten minutes is stated to give up to 24 hours of normal use, and a full charge takes about an hour. For people who charge nightly or in a morning routine, this short top-up time matters more than the headline runtime. The box contains a charging base, a USB-C charging cable and a strap.

Who it is for

The Watch X2 Mini suits Android users with smaller wrists who want a Wear OS watch with Google apps, NFC payments and a broad set of health and sports features. The gold version, with a leather strap, leans towards a fashion look, while the black version with a rubber-like strap suits sport use. It is a reasonable pick for those who want a fallback power-saving mode on long trips and fast top-up charging.
