The Amazfit Balance Ultra is the flagship of the Balance series, introduced by Amazfit on June 2, 2026 alongside the Balance 3. Where the Balance 3 is the all-rounder, the Ultra concentrates on materials and endurance: a Grade 5 titanium bezel, frame, buttons and back cover, a 780 mAh battery that Amazfit rates at up to 30 days of typical use, 64GB of onboard storage and the same 1.5-inch sapphire AMOLED display. It costs $599.99. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information and covers the watch's place in the range, its construction, training and navigation features, battery claims and the compromises of a high price.

Place in the lineup

Amazfit presents the Balance Ultra as the "flagship expression" of the Balance series and the hero watch of its Hybrid Training System, alongside the Amazfit Balance 3. The Balance 3 begins at $369.99 in stainless steel, and the earlier Amazfit Balance 2 launched at $299.99 in 2025. According to the official comparison, the Ultra and the Balance 3 share the same display, the same sensors, the same dual-band GPS, the same 180+ sports modes and the same Zepp OS 6 software. The differences are material, size and battery: titanium instead of steel or polymer, a larger case, five buttons instead of four, and a bigger battery. For a direct view, see Amazfit Balance Ultra vs Balance 3.

At $599.99 the watch competes with premium sport and adventure models. The Garmin Fenix 8 and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 are the obvious reference points, although each belongs to a different ecosystem. The rankings page places all of them side by side.

Design and materials

The Ultra's case measures 51.8 x 51.8 mm and is 13.4 mm thick excluding the heart-rate sensor (15.5 mm including it). It weighs 57 g without the strap. The bezel, frame, buttons and back cover are made of Grade 5 titanium, while the case itself is fiber-reinforced polymer; the watch has five buttons and a linear vibration motor. Two 22 mm quick-release straps are included: a black strap made of synthetic leather and silicone, and a black and terra strap made of silicone. The recommended wrist size is 140 to 210 mm, and the buckle is a classic pin buckle.

The 57 g weight is lower than the steel Balance 3 (62 g) despite the larger case, which is the practical benefit of the titanium. Even so, a 51.8 mm case remains big, and the design is rugged and angular, with exposed screw-style detailing and large side buttons. Anyone who prefers a slim dress-watch look will find it bulky.

Display

The display is a 1.5-inch AMOLED panel at 480 x 480 pixels (about 323 ppi) behind sapphire glass, with a stated peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. As with all peak-brightness claims, this is a maximum for bright conditions rather than a constant level. The screen size is identical to the Balance 3's, so the extra money does not buy a larger or sharper display. What it buys is the titanium build and the larger battery, which, according to Amazfit, can also run the always-on display for up to 10 days.

Training and software

The watch runs Zepp OS 6 and works with Android 8.0 and newer and iOS 17.0 and newer through the Zepp app. Amazfit says workout and recovery data in the app require no subscription. The platform's centerpiece is HybridCharge energy intelligence, which merges BioCharge (recovery state), LifeLoad (daily stress and lifestyle demands) and training load into one capacity score, supported by Weekly Focus and Training Balance views and Hybrid Training Plans. The Ultra also supports real-time indoor pace tracking through a connected Stryd footpod in HYROX Race Mode, according to Amazfit's product page.

More than 180 sports modes are included, with official HYROX training templates, simulation and race modes, automatic recognition of 25 strength movements and 8 sports movements, interval training on the watch and training templates created in the app. Running features include built-in running workouts, Zepp Coach plans, lactate threshold, running power, ground contact time, a track-run mode and a virtual pacer. The watch can connect to heart-rate belts, running and cycling power meters and speed and cadence sensors, and the app syncs with Strava, TrainingPeaks, Runna, Intervals.icu, Apple Health and Google Fit. These are the manufacturer's descriptions, and the quality of coaching depends on the algorithms and on how consistently the watch is worn.

GPS and navigation

Positioning relies on a dual-band, circularly polarized antenna and six satellite systems. Amazfit says the 64GB of storage holds offline base, contour and ski-resort maps, with turn-by-turn directions, point-of-interest search, route planning, round-trip route creation and automatic rerouting. A map-based watch is useful on trails and in unfamiliar cities, though reading a map on a 1.5-inch screen will never be as comfortable as on a phone.

Health tracking

The BioTracker 6.0 optical sensor (five photodiodes, two LEDs) provides continuous heart rate, blood-oxygen saturation, stress and skin-temperature monitoring, sleep analysis with heart-rate variability and naps, and one-tap measurement of several metrics. Additional sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, geomagnetic sensor, temperature sensor and barometric altimeter. A built-in flashlight offers white and red light. These are wellness features and not medical diagnoses.

Battery and charging

The battery capacity is 780 mAh (rated value). Amazfit's specification lists up to 30 days in typical use, up to 15 days in heavy use, up to 10 days with the always-on display, up to 50 hours in accuracy GPS mode and up to 97 hours in power-saving GPS mode. Compared with the Balance 3's 21 days and 41 hours, that is a clear gain on paper. Like all such figures, it was obtained under defined test conditions, and heavy use of GPS, calls and the flashlight will shorten it. The box contains a magnetic charging head without a USB-C cable.

Durability and connectivity

The watch is rated 10 ATM and listed for 45 m freediving and recreational scuba diving. Amazfit states it passed military-grade tests including low pressure, high and low temperature, temperature shock, vibration and impact, which the company does not equate with a formal certification. Connectivity is Bluetooth Low Energy 5.2 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, with a microphone and speaker for Bluetooth calls and voice notes, and Zepp Flow voice control where available.

Who it is for

The Ultra is intended for athletes and hikers who want a lighter premium build and the longest battery in the series, for HYROX competitors, and for travelers who dislike charging. It suits Android and iPhone owners alike. Because it shares its display, sensors and software with the cheaper Balance 3, buyers are paying mostly for titanium, battery capacity and the second strap.

Compromises

If you would be happy with the steel version's weight and shorter battery life, the Balance 3 offers nearly the same capabilities for less money.
