The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is the original, first-generation Yoga Tab Plus, announced in January 2025 as Lenovo's first on-device AI tablet. It combines a 12.7-inch 3K display refreshing at up to 144Hz, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 16GB of RAM, a 10,200 mAh battery and a Harman Kardon-tuned speaker system in a 6.69 mm body. This page is based on the published specifications and manufacturer information, and it explains where the tablet fits, what it offers and which compromises come with it.
Place in the lineup
Lenovo introduced the tablet in a January 2025 announcement from Las Vegas, together with the Idea Tab Pro and the Lenovo Tab. Its stated role is to be the premium, creative and productivity-focused tablet: a large screen, flagship silicon, an optional keyboard and a pen. Be careful with the naming, because there are two generations. This page covers the 2025 first-generation model; the newer Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 is a separate product with its own specifications. Lenovo's other Android tablets, such as the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2, serve different budgets and use cases.
The release date shown here, 7 January 2025, is the date of Lenovo's announcement. Lenovo said the tablet would be available starting in January 2025 in the United States, with an expected starting price of $699.99. That is a manufacturer statement made at announcement; actual prices vary by market, configuration, retailer and time.
Design and display
The tablet is 188.3 mm by 290.91 mm and 6.69 mm thick, and weighs 0.64 kg (1.41 lb). In landscape use it is a big, 16:10 slab, closer to a small laptop screen than to a compact tablet. Lenovo shows two colours, Tidal Teal and Seashell. Its official images show a rear panel with a horizontal camera bar across the top, a Lenovo logo in the middle and speaker vents along the long edges. The bottom edge carries a three-point pogo connector for the optional keyboard, according to Lenovo's product images.
The display is a 12.7-inch Lenovo PureSight Pro LCD with an anti-reflection treatment. Its resolution is 2944 x 1840 pixels, which Lenovo calls 3K, with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and a peak brightness of up to 900 nits in high brightness mode. Lenovo also states 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. Lenovo notes that the actual refresh rate varies with the app and content, so 144Hz is a maximum rather than a constant. This is an LCD rather than an OLED panel, which means the deepest blacks and the highest contrast of OLED are not available. On the other hand, a bright, anti-reflective 3K screen with a fast refresh rate is excellent for reading, streaming video, drawing and spreadsheets, and the anti-reflection coating should help in bright rooms.
Audio is another focus. Lenovo specifies a Sound by Harman Kardon system with two tweeters and four woofers, which it describes as "SLS" woofers, plus two microphones. Sound quality is subjective and Lenovo does not give measurements, but a six-speaker layout on a tablet this large is a promising specification for video and music.
Performance, memory and software
The chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with an Adreno 750 graphics unit and a neural processing unit rated at 20 TOPS. Lenovo lists 16GB of LPDDR5x memory running at 8533MHz and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. That is a premium combination, and the amount of RAM is generous for multitasking, large documents and several apps in split-screen mode. The listed configuration is the only one in the press materials we used, and the spec sheet does not mention a storage card slot, so plan around the 512GB.
The software is Android 15. Lenovo's headline feature is its on-device AI: the press release says the tablet has built-in large language models and smart assistance through Lenovo AI Now, with the benefit of local processing for data privacy and security. It also mentions cloud-based tools such as Lenovo AI Note, a writing assistant, and AI Transcript, for real-time voice-to-text and translation. Like all AI features, their practical value depends on your use and on regional availability, and the capabilities may change after launch; Lenovo itself says features will vary by device and country. The wireless standard is Wi-Fi 7, which needs a compatible router to show its advantage, and there is a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port. Lenovo does not list a cellular modem in the materials we used.
Cameras
The front camera is a 13MP wide-angle unit and the rear has a 13MP main camera plus a 2MP macro camera. These cameras are adequate for video calls, document scanning and quick snapshots, which is what most tablet owners do, and the wide-angle front camera suits meetings with more than one person in the frame. There is no suggestion that the rear camera is meant to compete with a phone camera, and nothing in Lenovo's materials claims so.
Battery, charging and accessories
The battery is rated at 10,200 mAh and supports 45W fast charging; Lenovo lists a power adapter of up to 45W. Lenovo does not publish an endurance figure for the tablet in the pages we used, so we do not quote one. With a large 144Hz screen and a flagship chip, real-world battery life will depend on how often the high refresh rate and heavy AI or gaming tasks are used. A battery of this size is in line with other large Android tablets.
The tablet pairs with an ergonomic 2-in-1 keyboard and with the Lenovo Tab Pen Pro, both sold separately according to Lenovo. The pen offers haptic feedback and natural writing sound, plus Lenovo's TurboTouch technology for smoother lines, in Lenovo's words. The keyboard connects through the pogo pins on the bottom edge. Budget for these accessories if you plan to use the tablet as a laptop replacement or a sketchbook, because the price quoted for the tablet does not include them.
Who it is for
The Yoga Tab Plus suits students, designers, note-takers and professionals who want a large, bright Android screen with strong performance and a pen and keyboard option, and people who like the idea of on-device AI for summaries and transcription. It also suits media fans who value the large 3K screen and the speaker setup. Compromises to weigh
- LCD panel: no OLED contrast, though the screen is large, bright and fast.
- Size: a 12.7-inch tablet at 0.64 kg is more of a desk and couch device than a pocketable one.
- Accessories cost extra: the keyboard and the Tab Pen Pro are sold separately.
- Modest cameras: a 13MP main camera and a 2MP macro are fine for documents and calls only.
- Price: Lenovo's expected starting price of $699.99 places it in the premium tablet class.
- Unstated details: the update commitment, a storage card slot and cellular options are not given in the materials used here, and a newer Gen 2 model now exists.
In short, the first-generation Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is a large, flagship-class Android tablet that puts display size, memory and sound ahead of camera quality. It is worth considering if you want a premium tablet and value its keyboard and pen options, and if you are shopping today, also check whether the newer Gen 2 or other current models fit better.
